hi… i usually don’t like to involve myself with drama or discourse, but after taking a step back from here and processing everything from the past few days, i thought i’d share my thoughts and frustrations since the current situation potentially affects us all (long rant ahead sorry):

at the root of it all, none of this would’ve happened if infold wasn’t so greedy, lazy and simply listened to our concerns from the very beginning. it’s not just the lack of/slow main story updates. players have been constantly asking for things like more farming methods for diamonds, fixing the lighting issues that affect darker skinned mcs, updates to the standard banner and orbit trials, catching sylus’s and caleb’s content up to match that of xavier’s, zayne’s and rafayel’s (especially since caleb has now been in the game for over a year while sylus is coming up on two years), the constant lack of updates to both the chocolate and lunar shops, better and more generous resource farming, along with many more problems, all of which have been unaddressed and CONTINUE TO REMAIN unaddressed til today.

PERSONALLY, i was always neutral towards valko, but i do feel that completely deleting and erasing him from the game before he even debuted, instead of postponing his release, wasn’t the smartest decision, especially since most of his content was already there, waiting to be put out into the world for those who were excited for and wanted to experience his route.

i also agree that it was a little too soon to be releasing a 6th LI, given that infold hasn’t actually addressed any of the more pressing issues at hand. that being said, they could’ve chosen to start addressing them either alongside valko’s release, or chose to postpone his release instead to prioritise coming up with solutions. instead, we got a cancelled LI release and ABSOLUTELY NO long-term solutions to these issues at all. which, imo, was one of the worst possible outcomes.

moreover, if it’s true that valko plays an integral role in the main story, that essentially means needing to fix and rewrite an entire chunk of the story to fill the gaps between where we last left off and where we’re supposed to pick back up again with caleb’s branch in september and sylus’s in november. my worry with this is that the main story chapters will have to be rushed and won’t turn out as strong and impactful as it would’ve been in its entirety, but i can only hope we will be proven wrong.

all this to say, whatever infold’s final solution turns out to be, i can only hope that they finally start listening to our concerns and come up with the necessary solutions to address each of them. as much as i love this game that has brought me so much comfort, there are so many elements that need fixing. the last thing i want is for lads to reach eos much earlier than it deserves, bc it truly has the potential to be a much more amazing game if infold just. LISTENED TO THEIR PLAYERS. that and i am much too attached to sylus to say goodbye to him so soon 💔💔💔

and trust me when i say that i’ve been looking forward to sylus’s main story branch + card for AGES. i spent so much of last year trying to save up enough stardust so i could r3 his branch card as soon as it became available. while i’m overjoyed that we have the month it’ll finally be released, i do wish that it could’ve been properly announced under better and more positive circumstances, instead of amidst the ensuing chaos in infold’s last statement.
