United should be more worried if Calafiori is starting ahead of MLS on Sunday. He adds dynamism to that Arsenal LHS, something similar to what White offers at the RHS + he's comfortable in all phases of play whereas MLS is only comfortable in the 1st and 2nd phases of play.🔝
I know Carlos Baleba is a top player but I'd rather spend £100M + on Bruno Guimares than on a Baleba. United's midfield is crying for a pass heavy no.8, I know Carlos is good with ball carries and physical but he needs a more controlled partner to thrive.
The sheer fact he consistently arrives in dangerous positions to score goals is a trait of his that's not being spoken about enough. He just needs to improve his finishing and decision making. I'm certain he'll thrive at Chelsea.
Garnacho is a lot better than he is given credit for.
Just turned 21, 17 goal contributions in 23/24, 21 in 24/25 - in dysfunctional United teams.
He never hid in that heavy United shirt.
Will do well at Chelsea, especially if Simons signs (two top passers in Palmer + Simons).
Just had a feeling it would've been better to use Højlund as part of the deal as he's a 9 thrives in space and running in behind, Leipzig would've been an ideal environment for him to develop, less pressure, and would use the experience he's garnered at utd to great effect.
I've read so many united fans who's been against this deal sighting the failure of Højlund's deal as a reason why this deal might fail, but it's clear Sesko has a higher ceiling than Rasmus Højlund and a much better player in terms of game understanding and movement as 9.
🚨🔵 EXCL: Chelsea have now made official club to club contact with Ajax for Jorrel Hato as next top priority! 🇳🇱
Hato, understood to be keen on the move and already prepared to accept personal terms at #CFC.
Negotiations ongoing with very good relationship between clubs.
There's a sincere will to succeed in Amorim, but he has fragile mentality players at his disposal. Which is why I think the signing of Emiliano Martinez will be key. Has strong mentality and leadership qualities.
🚨 | Ruben Amorim’s message to the fans in Manchester United’s new yearbook:
“Fulfilling our immense potential on a consistent basis is the aim for next season.
“For everyone associated with football - players, staff and fans alike - the start of the new season is a time of excitement and optimism, and a time to look forward.
“We should not completely ignore or forget what happened last season, because there are many lessons for us to learn from where things went badly, and also from the positive moments when we reminded ourselves of our potential to become so much better. At our energy is now focused on making sure we get closer to that potential, more often, and more consistently, this season.
“We all suffered so much disappointment and pain together last season as we went through that process of changing the way we work in our club. However, we are now in a much better position than we would have been if I was only joining this summer.
“Because of everything I have learned in the past eight months, and everything the players have learned about what I expect of them.
“One of the main things I have learned is how special this football club is, and how special its fans are.
“I feel a big sense of responsibility to help put Manchester United back where it belongs, and like I said on the pitch at Old Trafford after our final game of last season against Aston Villa, a strong belief that much better days lie ahead.
“I cannot promise that we will reach all our long-term objectives this season, but I can promise that I will give everything to help put us firmly on that path.
Ruben”
Unity, trust and harmony these are all missing in the united dressing room no trust among players, Maguire can't trust Onana to come claim a cross, Dalot can't trust Højlund to score a goal, Onana can't trust the deep players to progress the ball. It's a total mess of a team.
"Managing the dressing room is just as important, if not more than tactics. Because without unity, trust, and harmony among the players, all the knowledge you have means very little."
- Xavi
The broader point is that prioritizing fowards - and spending >£120m is prioritizing - instead of midfielders means it might be harder to address key gameplay issues that plague United.
There are teams that can build well, control the midfield, progress the ball easily from 1st to 2nd phase, but then struggle in the final 3rd.
United is not one of those teams.
United struggle in the final 3rd, as well, but our in-possession issues are much deeper.
We struggle to build from the 1st stage - teams either pin us back with a high press, or they wait for us in a mid block, cutting off passing venues.
We struggle to progless the ball, to switch sides, to recycle and retain, to attract pressure and manipulate blocks… these gameplay issues must be dealt with.
I like Mbeumo in particular, but we must not neglect the midfield again.
Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have arrived at the point where they MUST deliver silverware next season.
Although it's clear there's need for improvement in the attacking department at Arsenal. Below I discuss on summer recruitments, Arsenal should consider.🧵
@tactixology The lack of pausa and ball manipulation in United's build up is a major issue and only Lisandro Martinez has had this quality of all the players involved in their build up play.
Has unsustainable playing style demanded too much of his CBs, which led to too many injuries, poor recruitment and squad building. Exceptional achievement in delivering Europa League glory...but just had to go.
🚨⚪️ Ange #Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways – as expected and previously reported, now confirmed by Sky UK.
Brentford’s Thomas #Frank is considered a top candidate to replace him.

🚨 Manchester United are not actively seeking to part ways with Rasmus Hojlund, but both the club and the player are aware of Inter's interest. It would take around €45-50 million to persuade United to sell.
Inter would prefer a loan initially with an option or obligation to buy.
