Which someone reminds me of the movie, Me Before You - where the main character chooses death rather than live with his disability left from an accident. To which many disabled people spoke out against, saying that you can still live a meaningful life with disabilities.
Also, do we think Tom was trying to separate himself before Barry died? Or after? If he attempted before Barry’s death, it gives the idea that he couldn’t bare to live with his disability anymore, and that disabled people can live happy life with there disability.
I also liked that it attempted to tackle some harder issues like gangs and crime in Mexico, internalized homophobia, and death & loss. Though it only grazed the surface of these issues, and could have dove deeper.
