The Indian Parliamentary Standing Committee’s report underscores a critical cybersecurity challenge:
#India has faced over ₹31,594 crore in financial fraud since 2019, with deepfakes now 300% harder to detect and cyber trafficking rising 70% globally .
This affects our 900 million internet users and national security. The current budget allocates ₹997 crore to #cybersecurity for 2025 (Budget Estimate), yet the @GoI_MeitY share has declined to 4.5%, as noted in the @IndiaToday infographic.
The committee recommends a Central Negative Registry and enhanced tech oversight, but these measures require robust funding.
As a policy adviser, I recommend the government right the budget by significantly increasing cybersecurity allocation to address this escalating threat. Strengthening legal frameworks, public awareness, and international cooperation are also critical.
Input from experts and stakeholders is welcomed to refine this strategy. #CyberCrime #DigitalSafety #CyberBudget

And nobody knows when they will respond.

India's own Coursera. Thousands of free courses. Exams and certification by govt for a small fee. Been there for so long. Not many youngsters or learners in India will know about it. Why? As usual poor PR and communication from GoI. MIB is the most weak ministry to put it mildly. It needs a new young dynamic MP heading it with a capable defense personnel leading infowar and counter psyops. This one reform and reshuffle by @PMOIndia will help India tremendously from its soft power to economy. It will even benefit the ruling govt, I assure. Please do it at least for politics sake. 🙏 https://t.co/ALnnEf1brG

🚨 I suggest not using fingerprint or face authentication for UPI payments. It may be fast and convenient, but there’s a higher risk of accidental payments. With a PIN, you still have a chance to cancel, but once fingerprint or face authentication is done, the payment goes through instantly.
Even as our Arattai team is scaling up and fine tuning the product, our other product teams are hard at work.
Last year Zoho became an RBI authorized payment aggregator in India and launched our online payment solutions. We are now deepening our fintech footprint by unveiling our all-new Zoho Payments Point-of-Sale (POS) Devices. With our new devices, businesses can accept in-person payments while staying seamlessly connected to their broader ecosystem.
As part of our broader push in global fintech and payments, we have partnered with NPCI’s NBBL to address real business challenges and strengthen India’s digital payments infrastructure.
(Yes, on the consumer front, Arattai will integrate Zoho Pay, please give us some time!)
@sabarisec It’s not easy to wean ourselves off global products!
Habits, integrations, and reliability matter.
But each step towards Zoho, Arattai, and other Indian tools strengthens our tech ecosystem
Several Indian Ministers using @Zoho won’t replace @Google or @Microsoft overnight, but it does signal that Indian tech is ready for the big stage.
