Washington can't afford to have a question mark around Cuba so close to the crown jewels. This is the material calculus that goes into what they're doing.

China producing open source alternatives is like what they’ve already done with drone production— if Iran can hold Hormuz now it’s because China produced low cost drones & the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. Open source AI is the future of sovereignty for any state challenging unipolar hegemony. If China wasn’t producing open source AI alternatives, no other state is positioned to do it.

This guy who works at the poorly named OpenAI (or more accurately ClosedAI) laments that China's open-source models could lead to:

"full AI communism, which is precisely what China proposes: rather than a market product, AI is a 'public good' which will ultimately be provided by the state as a kind of 'digital public infrastructure'".

This outcome would be objectively good for the vast, vast majority of humanity. But of course people who work at OpenAI (ClosedAI) claim it would be "a dystopian hellscape", because they would not have a monopoly on AI and could not become trillionaire techno-feudal lords by forcing everyone to pay them digital rents.

In reality, Silicon Valley's vision for the future is an actual dystopian hellscape. The US proposes neo-feudalism, whereas China proposes "full AI communism".

🇦🇷 He’s too busy handing over 865,000 acres of Patagonia, along with the nation’s water and minerals, to Isræl, PaIantir and the Ep$te!n Empire while Argentina is distracted, celebrating a World Cup victory.

Argentina’s tragedy is that it may win the World Cup while losing everything that truly matters. Its land. Its resources. Its wealth. Its sovereignty. Its identity. It will lift the trophy, only to wake up the next morning and realize it has lost Argentina itself.

The sooner the distraction ends, the sooner the Argentinian people can go back to resisting this parasitic tyranny.

Deep down, every true Argentine patriot, every patriot who knows that football is so much more than “just a game”, knows this World Cup win would be bittersweet, if not outright detrimental for the nation.

Spain must win on Sunday. Not merely for the trophy, but to shatter the spell of national obfuscation gripping the Argentine people. Spain has the fraternal duty to deliver a shock that forces them to look up from the stadium lights and confront the predatory forces carving up their soil.
