October was a busy month for CNTP! Earlier in the month, we had an abbreviated version of our annual retreat, where we introduced an overview of the program to the new trainees, and played some very fun neuro-inspired pictionary (winning team pictured)!
This was such rewarding experience and I cannot thank SMDP enough for the knowledge I gained, the valuable experiences we shared, and the incredible connections and friends that I made. This is just the beginning!

Over the past few days I've had the fortunate opportunity to start my journey as one of the 2022 SMDP Scholars!
This is a remarkable program that pairs current students with established mentors in the MedTech industry to increase diversity in MedTech. @smdpscholars
It's not okay to offer funding where the recipient uses their own money first and is reimbursed later. This puts serious pressure on those in less privileged positions. Many struggle (silently) or lose out completely. Reduce inequity by offering resources up front.
I’m out here applying to internships and I have a question… @ PhD students: do you have a personal/professional website?
(If so, which website builder do you use?)

Also go and check out @MikeKelberman’s poster at the same time (P1-218) showing our work on functional connectivity changes induced by locus coeruleus activity in Alzheimer’s! #AAIC22
We out here at #AAIC22! 🧠 Come see me at my poster (P1-220) between 12:30 - 2:15 pm to learn about locus coeruleus effects on the BOLD global signal in Alzheimer’s! #BlackInNeuro
Miss my #NSS_PIA talk yesterday or want to know more on the effects of optogenetic locus coeruleus stim on brain wide dynamics in AD? Check out posters 61608 and 63368 being presented by @Nmachi_A and myself today! We'll be standing by our posters around lunch. #AAIC2022
Welcome to #NeuroAcrossTheDiaspora!
Today is about highlighting the global presence, experiences and stories of Black neuroscientists across the world. The African diaspora stretches to Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania and #BlackInNeuro spans these continents. 🧵(1/4)
#BlackInNeuroWeek is BACK, so you know what time it is... #BlackInNeuroRollCall! 🗣
To participate, you can either:
