I recently joined a roundtable with cosmetic industry leaders as we work to promote safe, humane alternatives to animal testing. We’ve already seen important wins in our effort to reduce outdated animal testing requirements and advance new research methods. I’ll continue working with my colleagues in Congress to build on this progress to protect animal welfare & get access to newer consumer products quicker.

This happened last week. Two miles away from the ICE shooting yesterday.

In Congress, I supported the Women’s Health Initiative and voted for legislation to extend & strengthen the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, which provides screening and diagnostic services for underserved women including local hospitals such as @SIUHOSPITAL, @RUMCSI and @NYULangone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center. It’s currently Breast Cancer Awareness Month & I joined Staten Island University Hospital to promote mammogram screenings for early detection.
