Memory came flooding back to the time my brother was driving in Yelahanka with me and 4 kids under 10. Three goons on a scooter overtook from the right, stopped right in front and my brother braked hard not to hit them. They rushed to his window and smashed fists into his face asking for money saying he bumped their scooter

My brother bleeding profusely from the nose tried getting out to confront them when three of the four kids started crying in fear. The goons ran, got on the scooter and rushed off. I took down the number with a baby on my lap crying at the sight of his father bleeding....

Its been 3 decades and I am still angry at myself for not getting out of the passenger seat to help my brother fight those goons.

Even that time, no one else came to our aid. Public apathy needs to change

Some Punjabi Hindus might feel a quiet sense of jealousy, almost like a sibling who feels overlooked when the BJP shows respect to Sikhi and supports the Sikh community in Punjab.

It is understandable, but what they must remember is that Sikhi is a sacred branch of the same eternal Sanatan civilizational tree. Being protective towards Sikhs is not pandering to Khalistanis. It is simply honouring the deep civilizational bond that connects us all.

One positive thing that came out of #satluj is that the Govt cannot downplay K-tanis, their provocation and meddling in Punjab anymore.
People are remebering the time their militancy was at peak... The murder of Hindus and Sikhs who did not stand by their ideology. The role of #KPSGill in breaking the K-tani back with an iron fist. The return of normalcy in Punjab after over a decade long bloodshed.

It has also exposed those who still sympathize with K-tani leaders or supporters under the garb of atrocities against Sikhs but in the same breath say they don't want a seperate nation knowing very well that it is the 'only' objective and demand of the K-tanis...

Worse are those Hindus who have faced militancy and atrocities in Kashmir but today are supporting a movie that whitewashes an Activist turned K-tani brand ambassador, a man who completely surrendered to and promoted Bhindis violent ideology and demand for a seperate nation at any cost, be it turning a blind eye to tens of thousands of Hindus and 'sikhs' (who were against K-tani ideology) being butchered in Punjab.
These shameless people want the Govt to un-ban a movie that glorifies his struggle but not his double standards...

Ofcourse there were police excesses that have no justification. You couldn't tell who's who and the police did go overboard with their actions at some point. But if you lived in that Punjab without a Ktani stand, you too would have been hiding behind Gill begging him to take on these animals...
This dual face of some of the Kshmri-Hindus is disappointing and also a reminder that hypocrisy is a norm these days and unfortunately here it's more noticeable in the ones who've come from families that have been victims of a somewhat similar fate as 1000s of Sikhs and Hindus in Punjab....only difference- one was compelled to leave their home, the others kiIIed in their homes.

I would have supported the release of the movie too had they ALSO shown the Punjab that was dying under k-tani militancy instead of just a Punjab that lost some innocent men to an operation that by design went hammer and tong for the survival of Punjab.

If you're cozying up to anything under the garb of Freedom of expression or any of that garbage, that remotely supports a movement which calls for breaking of India or tries to whitewash a terrorist/ terrorist supporter as some HRA - You are also a shareholder of that treason. Period!
