I have a trip I really want to make. Total budget is 1.5m and I currently have 500k. I need the remaining 1m before next week. What do I do? I’m confused.
May be you should take ₦100k–₦150k and build yourself a proper job-hunting machine.
Open an Upwork account. Buy some Connects and start applying strategically. Connects are currently $0.15 each, so you don't need to burn money applying to 500 random jobs.
Get your LinkedIn profile properly positioned. If Premium Career is available to you, use it for the job-search tools, advanced filters and InMail, not because Premium magically gets you a job. LinkedIn currently lists Premium Career from $39.99/month, although actual pricing can vary by location and promotions.
Then create a proper Fiverr profile and package your skill into services people can actually buy.
The goal isn't:
"I want to make ₦1m."
The goal is:
2 clients × $300 = $600
1 client × $500 = $500
2 small jobs × $150 = $300
That's $1,400.
At roughly ₦1,500/$, that's about ₦2.1m.
Or forget the exchange-rate calculation and make it even simpler:
Get one $500 client.
Get another $500 client.
Get two $250 clients.
You've made $1,500.
You don't need 50 clients. You need a few people who have a problem you can solve and are willing to pay you for solving it.
If you're a designer, sell landing pages, social media designs, presentations and brand assets.
If you're a writer, sell email sequences, website copy, LinkedIn content and newsletters.
If you're a video editor, sell short-form videos, YouTube editing and repurposing.
If you're a marketer, sell email marketing, CRM setup, lead generation, automation and campaign management.
If you're a developer, sell websites, integrations, bug fixes, automation and small software projects.
And don't just sit on Upwork.
Every day:
10 targeted Upwork applications.
10 LinkedIn conversations with founders, hiring managers or potential clients.
5 direct cold emails.
2 Fiverr gigs properly optimised.
1 piece of content showing your work or expertise.
Do that consistently for 30 days.
And please, don't spend ₦500k trying to "look professional."
You don't need an expensive laptop, fancy office or 15 subscriptions.
You need a skill, a portfolio, a good profile, internet, and enough money to survive while you search.
Keep most of the ₦500k as your runway.
Use a small portion to acquire opportunities.
Then your vacation isn't funded by somebody feeling sorry for you.
It's funded by money you generated.
That's a completely different feeling.
No dey rage bait us, thanks.
Do we have any operations specialists or automation builders here?
I found the cleanest way to land high-paying retainers without cold pitching every week.
Do I share or nah? 😂
I don't completely agree with this.
Yes, women can sometimes have more access to romantic attention regardless of their income.
A woman doesn't necessarily need to be wealthy to attract a wealthy man. But having access to men is not the same thing as having access to a good relationship.
A broke woman can date a rich man, absolutely. But the rich man still gets to decide whether he wants to marry her, build with her, trust her, or make her part of his long-term life. Attention is cheap. Commitment is expensive.

Once you learn how to shop directly from China, E.g Temù or shien your wardrobe changes completely. Call me cheap I don't care I ain't rich, I don't do fraud.😭
It's knowing what to search for.
Here's my style after making plenty of mistakes.
1. T-shirts:
Skip 100% polyester unless you're buying gym wear.
Instead, search:
• 100% Cotton
• Combed Cotton
• Heavyweight Cotton
• 240-300 GSM Cotton
• Premium Cotton
• Mercerized Cotton
The heavier the GSM, the thicker and more premium the shirt usually feels.
2. Jeans:
Denim Jeans
Temu is surprisingly good for denim if you know what to search.
Search:
• Denim Jeans
• Cotton Denim
• Raw Denim
• Selvedge Denim (if available)
• 98% Cotton + 2% Elastane
• 99% Cotton
Avoid jeans with high polyester content. The more cotton, the better they'll age and feel.
3. Body-hug clothing:
Search:
• Ribbed Knit
• Modal
• Viscose Blend
• Cotton-Spandex Blend
They hold their shape much better than cheap polyester.
4. Hoodies
Search:
• 400 GSM
• French Terry
• Cotton Fleece
• Heavyweight Hoodie
5. Chains
Search:
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Titanium Steel
• PVD Gold Plated
• Vacuum Plated
These are far more resistant to fading than ordinary fashion jewelry.
6. Earrings
Search:
• 925 Sterling Silver
• 316L Stainless Steel
• Hypoallergenic
• Moissanite (if you're buying stones)
7. Scarves
Search:
• Mulberry Silk
• Silk Blend
• Cashmere Blend
• Wool Blend
• Viscose
Avoid the shiny, thin polyester scarves if you're after a premium look.
8. Loafers
Search:
• Genuine Leather
• Cow Leather
• Full Grain Leather (rare but worth looking for)
• Rubber Outsole
9. Sneakers
Search:
• Rubber Outsole
• EVA Midsole
• Breathable Mesh
• Leather Upper
• Stitched Sole
Pictures lie a lot
The description usually tells the truth.
Here's how I shop:
1. Read the material composition before anything else.
2. Sort by Most Orders or Best Selling, not cheapest.
3. Only buy products with lots of reviews or pictures or even better when a Nigerian has purchased it before they always tell the truth.
4. Read the 1-star reviews first. They'll tell you what the seller won't.
5. Look at customer photos, not the product photos.
6. Check the weight of the product. Better quality clothing is often heavier.
7. Read the size chart. Don't assume your Nigerian size matches.
8. If the title has words like "luxury," "premium," or "designer" but the material is 100% polyester, not everything but still move on.
Your best friend isn't the product picture.
It's the material, the reviews, and the customer photos.
That's how you separate the gems from the junk.
I hope this help.
Things are to expensive for a country this poor.
