Mission: defend Texas Red as real Texas tradition.
Not every bowl cooked in Texas is Texas Red.
Not every preference becomes a definition.
Eat your bowl your way.
Just leave the beans out of Texas Red.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
After careful review, this recipe is hereby recognized as legitimate Texas Red. Beef, dried red chiles, proper spices, no beans, no tomatoes, no bell peppers, no vegetable garden hiding in the pot.
Emily’s Heirloom Kitchen has my endorsement. 🌶️🤠
@jannajones@EmilysHeirloomX@ThePanic16 Chuck roast is right, but the onion, garlic and bell peppers aren’t traditional Texas Red. Purist chile con carne is beef, rendered fat, dried red chiles, cumin, salt and liquid, cooked down into a thick red chile gravy. No vegetables, beans or tomatoes.
