first off, let me defend myself.

on discord, there have recently been a bunch of people trying to impersonate your friends and get you to download a bunch of stuff, like a file or clicking on a link in order to scam you, or infect your PC with a virus.

the very first message that they sent me was a Minecraft modpack FILE. i asked them a question that only they would know.

they answered wrong so i blocked em 👍

NO FUCKING WAY, this is the guy that dropped TENS OF THOUSANDS of bits and a BUNCH of subs in my chat. my payout last month on twitch was almost $800, you do the math…
he spent hours in my discord channel vc blackout drunk telling everyone to “shut the f*** up”….
literally, he asked “what is the meal between breakfast and dinner?” (He’s not a native English speaker) so i said “lunch” and he told me to shut the f*** up. we ended up having to remove him from vc because he went nonverbal after a while of everyone trying to ask if he was okay/telling him to drink some water…
randomly left my discord a few days after that and vanished, never saw him again.
DO NOT BE LIKE THIS GUY. absolutely insane to see this lmao… im shook lol

This space is filled with clout chasers, manipulators, and bullies. They love attacking anyone that reminds them of their short comings or failures.

Some creators are so desperate to be validated that they will create problems in their head with other creators who don’t give them said validation and then go on and spread rumors about that person because their delusions made them believe it really happened.

There are so many red flags that get looked over, especially if they’re a creator with decent numbers.

Anytime you’re getting to know someone who only seems interested in talking to you because they know you can either offer them knowledge on how to grow, people you hang out with, or get them into mixers/parties/sponsorships then that’s a red flag.

This can be hard to tell sometimes because the best manipulators will make you feel like your friends through gossip and victim complexmaxxing.

I agree with rainy and this quote rt chain because it does suck to have to push through this if you’re a creator who’s on a manipulators shit list. If you don’t make it in with the “clique” and get deemed a horrible person in their victim narrative, then you’re going to have a very difficult time making friends who aren’t in that persons reach.

It can make your world feel very dark, lonely, and isolated. All because there’s too many ppl who can’t talk about their feelings and will hold a grudge over you over something that they most likely made up in their head.

If the ppl you talk to only seem interested in what they can take and never give or show respect then that’s not a real friendship.

Keep in mind for ppl who only love to gossip and spread rumors cuz that’s also a big indicator that they will one day spread stuff about you.

The best thing you can do in this space is to surround yourself with people who motivate you and don’t make you feel like a constant burden.

As a decade old gaming streamer, I think we shouldn't generalise a gender as good or bad. I've been backstabbed by women far more than by men in this space. And the ones spreading pretty lies and ruining opportunities have all been women. Does that mean I should advocate the opposite?
