I facilitated 6 PD sessions in DFW this week and am now putting the final touches on a week of virtual ones starting Monday. I'm thankful for virtual, but nothing beats meeting 800 other teachers who get it - an your jokes ;)
I got the chance to meet the lady @NoFlashCards. No longer nervous or afraid of STEM. Had the chance to have a conversation with her. We should have taken a picture together. #NoFlashCards#N4F23#RISDprek
Did you know kids who play with blocks are better at math, and they are engaging in complex language structure? @NoFlashCards is bringing the learning! @Region10ESC
Sue Johanson, the blunt, bawdy and beloved Canadian sex educator and host of the long-running television call-in program “Sunday Night Sex Show” and its American counterpart, “Talk Sex With Sue Johanson,” died on June 28. She was 92. https://t.co/5s612Wqr0A
I’m facilitating a lot of PD this summer -as I reviewed the updated research on each topic this month I am reminded why I stress ate candy so much in grad school. So much in education comes down to SES - we know this we’ve known it and yet we do crap about it. Pass the skittles.
Immediately I thought about some of the read-alouds that tanked this year and know that if I could read those books as well as I can read WTWTA storytime would have been more engaging/effective. So this summer I'm going to dig out a bunch of books and practice. (2/2)
Yesterday for the last day of PreK I read my favorite book - Where The Wild Things Are. My students were captivated-which is near impossible on the last day of preschool- not just because that book is rad, but because I read it marvelously. ( 1/2)
