As Washington treats allies as transactional customers and turns long-standing commitments into shakedowns, the world is looking elsewhere for trade and cooperation.
The US is no longer the global trendsetter.
My take:
Iryna zarutska, 23, ukrainian refugee who fled to the US to escape the war in Ukraine, was fatally stabbed in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The suspect, decarlos brown Jr., 34, man with a history of criminal activity, was arrested and charged with first degree murder.
Trump claims Ukraine is collapsing (no cards), but the data tells another story: Ukraine stands firm while Russia grinds itself down, The Atlantic
I’d add: if you judge by territory gained, Russia is winning; but by lives lost for that territory, the results are disastrous

🇸🇾Syrian women forced to walk naked before being executed and shot dead by the countries new HTS regime forces.
At least 745 Syrian civilians have been slaughtered in the coastal region of Latakia as the new regimes forces have began massacring Alawites and Christian’s.
Among those being targeted are women, some of whom were paraded through the streets without clothes before being shot at close range.
Residents of Baniyas, one of the towns worst hit by the violence, said bodies were strewn on the streets or left unburied in homes and on the roofs of buildings, and nobody was able to collect them.
“They forcibly brought people down to the streets, then they lined them up and started shooting them” - a resident of Baniyasin told Sky News.

1/13 🧵 A perspective from inside Russia. As a Russian citizen witnessing this conflict from within our borders, let me share my thoughts on where we stand after 3 years of bloody war.
I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm
