@JohnHMcWhorter A few years ago, I saw Metropolis at the Babylon theatre in Berlin, which is one of the very few movie theatres that still have an orchestra pit. Having a movie and an orchestra experience at the same time was truly remarkable. The "lack" of other sound didn't even come to mind.

@thomaschattwill I assume that having police officers around makes it that much harder to act as a bystanders. Once police or other first responders arrive, it usually means that they are taking control and it's okay or even expected for bystanders to stand back.

@peterboghossian @AndrewGold_ok Many of these people fled Syria because of the Assad regime and are now hopeful that Syria may find peace. When you're asking for "a solution" to whatever "the problem" is, then I guess you're seeing the solution in the video. Peace in Syria.

There was a large rally in celebration of the toppling of the Assad regime next to the christmas market, which around 11,000 people attended. Some of the participants simply walked through the market. 1/
