“…we've also stopped treating stories as experiences and started treating them as products. This is the reason why so many people treat "problematic" narratives, themes, characters, or relationships as "endorsement" of immoral behaviour.”
No one asked, but I kinda wanna give a crash course on how to engage in better media literacy cause i keep seeing posts like this.
The best thing you can do to improve is simple: meet a story where it's at, ideally without preconceived notions. 🧵
This also why Tsuburaya should do expensive projects more often tbh. Not saying that they should completely abandon safer money guaranteed NewGen model, but they can do modern heisei Ultraseven level of stuff that can probably appeal to more people especially sci fi fans sometime
Instead of trying to win over battle shounen fans or comic superheroes fans to Ultraman, the series is better off trying to win over Star Trek fans, X-Files fans, Stargate fans and so on. Those are the fans more likely to appreciate Ultraman for what it is.

The change in how we watch shows probably plays a part. Back then you watched an episode (maybe 2) weekly. Nowadays people prefer something more binge-able. Also the popularity of battle shounen with the general audience (hype aura and moment stuff) made slower not as attractive.
The discussion about people not able to get into Ultraman because it episodic nature…
That bring a question, what wrong with Episodic show?
Like why would a classic format that being around for decades, be so incomprehensible to people of today?
The funniest thing about this discussion is you can already see some people complaining about "filler" in ultraman on some of these posts lmaoooooo
Again some people genuinely cant comprehend an episodic show these days
@BattyWanderer I hate to say it, but the storytelling in Ultra feels outdated. Despite having 24 episodes, an entire cour is filler, and the important arcs are only at the beginning and the end. Tsupro is trying to improve this pacing, too, though

Ultraman Rising didn't seem to make the splash that it needed to, but why do I feel that if a Kamen Rider equivalent was made, that even was only half as good as Rising, it would still be a bigger success somehow?
The way some netizens talking about the Rohingya issue is so dumb. Yes, there are major problems caused by them here but comparing them with genocidal state is insane.
Y'all gotta take your extremist brains out and clean them with Softlan a bit.
A coalition of civil society groups has called for the Pahang government to withdraw eviction notices issued to Orang Asli communities in the Tasek Bera area.
About 20 villages received the notices in June, while five Orang Asli, including four women, were arrested during a standoff with authorities.

@MahmudZUllah Palestin is fighting and not abandoning their country.
Jangan samakan dengan puak hanyut macam hampa. Rohingya are coward who leave their own country and making mess as other people country
This is EXTREMELY bad and signifies the start of decay of human society. There’s a reason why some of society’s greatest eras had advancements within humanities and the arts. And with art inherently being political, this is the start of a greater censorship going to take place…
