Jacob Misiorowski just posted the best single-game starter proStuff+ of this postseason at 121. The stuff was legitimately filthy even in a 5 IP, 1 ER outing with 3 K. Nick Martinez graded next at 96.
It was completely out of control. At every aspect of the game Miz had allowed fewer hits and fewer runs on fewer pitches than his counterpart, yet Smoltz’s criticism was relentless. And it continued throughout the game saying the Brewers were over-exposing their bullpen.
I’ve never witnessed a harder critique of a starting pitcher who’s given up 1 earned run in a World Series game in my life. Complaining about broadcasters isn’t my thing but Smoltz has been ridiculous.
4 hits, one run, one walk and the Game 1 winner. Higher average velocity than regular season.
Somehow this is not knowing how to pitch and being tired.
I know I’m supposed to hate the Brewers, but this from @JLevering4 is pretty incredible.
Baseball’s highs and lows are unlike anything else. Jeff captured both moments perfectly.
