That they won't accept *any* one thing being women only, should tell you all you need to know, not one rape crisis centre (see Vancouver rape Relief Centre, rat; see Sarah Surviving, Brighton), not one app (see Giggle), nothing!
Remember, every person who says they are disgusted by the Supreme Court judgment is admitting that:
They’re disgusted that female sexual assault survivors might meet in a support group to open up about their trauma, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that lesbians can socialise exclusively with other lesbians, without men being present.
They’re disgusted by new mothers gathering together to discuss breastfeeding or post partum problems, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that girls can play sport with other girls and shower, change and dress, without boys being present.
They’re disgusted that organisations - which realise they are too male dominated - can’t fill any female quotas with other men.
They’re disgusted that vulnerable female prisoners and arrestees can’t be searched by men or kept in a cell with other men.
They’re disgusted that women can have their own things.
They’re disgusted by the Equality Act 2010.
They’re disgusted by the law.
Isn’t that disgusting?
@CalvinBailey When you talk about the “vulnerable people” being “protected” I assume you’re referring to girls & women & reminding your male constituents to “behave reasonably & respectfully” by staying out of female only spaces.
Encourage men to make male spaces more welcoming Calvin.
🇬🇧 I live in a country where depraved sickos caught with 1000s of the most horrific images and videos of babies and toddlers being r-ped walk free -
And a young man who threw a traffic cone that hit no one, is jailed for 3-5 years.
My charity raises funds for girls' toilets to be built in developing countries so girls can go to school for 4 weeks of the month instead of 3. This isn't rocket science. Why are girls in the UK not allowed as much dignity and privacy?
Our new report, Getting back on track, explains how the Equality Act provides the legal framework for protecting and providing for women and girls in sport.
We explain the law on sport in layperson’s terms, and call on government ministers, sports councils and sports national governing bodies to protect the female category for women and girls.
Yesterday we launched the report in the @UKHouseofLords. As @MForstater said in her speech, for the past 15 years legal misunderstandings have removed the focus, opportunity and resources women and girls need to thrive in sport.
Organisations, sports leaders and public bodies do not need new legal tools to protect women’s sport. They just need to use the legal tools that already exist.
Protecting, celebrating and promoting women and girls in sport isn’t just what the law allows. It’s also the right and fair thing to do.

@oskarelmgren@jk_rowling You still haven’t answered on what you’ve based your answer. Fortunately, it’s not up to you and the law has decided that girls need separate toilet facilities.
@oskarelmgren@jk_rowling Let me get this straight, you’ve just said “it’s not about if it’s necessary” followed by “unnecessary gender segregation is bad” in response to me asking you why you don’t think it’s necessary. Do you think it’s unnecessary? Please explain why you’ve come to your conclusion.
What I want to know is - when they were making these insane laws, did they give even the tiniest fraction of thought to how this affects women and girls?
When I posted a tweet about a man getting undressed in front of women in a changing room the other day; the overwhelming response was disbelief that the event happened and shocked that women would ignore it. If it did happen I seriously doubt women would be ok with it, as the responses show.
But this IS happening in Australia and YOU DON’T HAVE A CHOICE.
You can call the police re: a man in the women’s. However, if that man claims a magical gender identity (that may not be obvious, as looking like a man is a protected characteristic of trans identified men), then YOU could face discrimination charges. So calling the police re: your safety is a complete gamble and as we know they have hauled Kirralie Smith through court simply for identifying a man as a man and she’s paying $95k in costs.
Did you ever think you'd live to see the day where a WOMAN leading the largest Union in the UK with the largest number of women members would argue against women's right to single sex spaces in the workplace?
No me neither.
Find a better union ladies.
Also the guidance doesn't cover workplaces, it's not even relevant, that's covered by separate legislation. Absolute clowns.
@ripx4nutmeg@LegalGengar I particularly like this opening line “Bridgnorth Pride has been taking place every year since 2024” so that’s twice so far then!
@unisontheunion@unisontheunion as a union where almost 80% of your members are women, please clarify, are you now campaigning for the Equality Act to be changed so 'sex' is no longer a protected characteristic?
