Looking at political ideologies without looking at power and the way those ideologies plan on using power is pointless. The ideology doesn’t matter what matters is the power that is being served by advancing it.

If it plans on using coercive power to accomplish its ends, then it is not inherently compatible with Christianity. Christ refused the sword. He chose to die on the cross rather than reach for coercive power. Therefore, any ideology that claims to be Christian while using the sword to compel belief or enforce Christianity relinquishes its Christianity at the door.

Exposing the Taliban's Global Intelligence Propaganda Machine

This week several of Taliban’s spies tied to the Taliban General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) 015 Directorate were exposed. They are only a small part of a much larger influence operation.

Led by Mohammad Khalil Hamzar, the GDI's 015 Directorate oversees the Taliban's media and propaganda apparatus in coordination with the 033 Directorate. It recruits and pays journalists, social media influencers, and activists inside Afghanistan and abroad including both in the U.S. and Europe to amplify Taliban narratives, attack critics, divide the opposition, influence foreign public opinion, and collect on those critical of the Taliban.

The network includes Al Mersad, Hurriyat Radio, Yad, Misaq, Hindukush, Urooj, Afghan Voice, Afghanistan in Arabic, Nunn asia, Voice of Sharia, Radio Omid, and reportedly extends across roughly 200 media outlets. There are more than 1,200 journalists, influencers, and propagandists recruited as spies who are paid by GDI’s 015.

Every share, repost, interview, or citation has the potential to amplify a terrorist organization's information operation. Know the source before you engage or amplify the message. Don't hand the Taliban an advantage in the information domain. They think they're smarter than the rest of us. They're not.

Facebook’s Open Marketplace for Illegal Migration

One of the key terms used for illegal migration by Moroccans and North Africans is “Haraga” (حرّاقة), which literally means “burners.” The term became popular in the 1990s because many migrants would burn their identity documents before crossing illegally, making it harder for the receiving country to verify their nationality and deport them to their country of origin.

For years, the word Haraga has been openly used in the names of Facebook and WhatsApp groups dedicated to organizing and facilitating illegal migration. These groups coordinate routes, logistics, contacts, and smuggling services, yet many remain active while Facebook removes pages over far less serious issues.

Examples include:

1. Haraga Maroc (since 2021) – 13,000 members. A space coordinating illegal crossings to Spain.
2. Haraga Tanger Malaga (since 2023) – 73,000 members. Dedicated to illegal migration logistics and services.
3. Haraga DZ (since 2022) – 16,000 members. An Algerian group coordinating dates, routes, and crossings to Spain.
4. Haraga_Maroc عشاق الغربة (since 2023) – 45,000 members. Shares news, logistics, and information related to illegal crossings to Spain.
5. Haraga2019 (since 2019) – 83,000 members. Advertises visas, work contracts, and migration services, alongside scams targeting would-be migrants.

The Moroccan government, the Spanish government, the European Union, and Meta all know these networks exist. If they are serious about fighting human trafficking and illegal migration, enforcement should begin in the digital space where these networks recruit, organize, and coordinate.
