Congrats to Josh Martin on his commitment to San Jose State! The Spartans are bringing an experienced left handed hit tool and plus defender back to NorCal.
@Josh24Martin
D1 transfer LHH 1B. Got off to a slow start this Spring (1 for his first 17), then settled in and hit over .300 the rest of the way with an 11% K rate. Appeared in 43 games this Spring, can really pick it at 1B and has experience in a strong D1 conference. Punched out only 6% of the time in two seasons at Santa Rosa JC.
@Josh24Martin
Josh Martin (1B, SO, Santa Rosa JC) had a few scouts in yesterday v West Valley. Posted a 2-4 day including a long & grinding 1st AB resulting in a knock. Former San Marin standout has long been on the radar for area guys

Whoever lands @Josh24Martin is going to be very pleased to have a legitimate left handed bat in their lineup and one of the top defensive first basemen anywhere, IMO (with ability to play the OF).
Freshman season at SRJC:
- 1 error in 46 games / 422 total chances last season
- 33 BB/8 K, .867 OPS in a legit Cali JC conference
Josh Martin - JC Soph LHH 1B/OF @ Santa Rosa JC. Big time hit tool / zone awareness guy with power upside. Off the charts reverse K/BB ratio in the Big 8 Conference. Vacuum cleaner at 1B with plenty of track record in the OF (did it in high school).
2024 JC Freshman Spring Stats:
- .295 AVG, .876 OPS, 173 AB, 10 2B, 5 HR, 33 B, 8 K, 3.6% K rate!
- 1 error in 46 games/422 total chances
2023 Senior Year @ San Marin HS:

Freshman season ✅
@Josh24Martin LHH 1B
Santa Rosa JC (Big 8 Conf.)
He’s a vacuum at 1B. Athletic, strong arm, loves the game. Starter & only committed 1 error all season. Kid can flat out pick it!
HS base runners, get a good primary, aggressive secondary, pick up pitch on way 2 plate, anticipate dirty ball. Your base running will change the AB, the pitch count, the inning & even the standings. Remember, you are on Offense!
