Un fuerte escándalo ha estallado en Guerrero tras la viralización de un video que muestra a un grupo de influencers (provenientes principalmente de Acapulco) manipulando el l��baro patrio sin ningún tipo de protocolo oficial en el Asta Bandera Monumental de Iguala (Cerro del Tehuehue). El incidente, registrado hacia el 31 de mayo de 2026, ha desatado el rechazo absoluto de la ciudadanía debido a que los creadores de contenido bajaron la bandera entre bromas, expresiones altisonantes, jaloneos e incluso colgándose de ella para grabar videos. La indignación es doble al recordar que Iguala es históricamente reconocida como la Cuna de la Bandera Nacional.
La polémica también salpica de forma directa a las autoridades locales, ya que los involucrados visitaron previamente el Ayuntamiento de Iguala y grabaron contenido junto al alcalde Erick Catalán Rendón, con quien se les vio festejando. Aunque los influencers afirmaron que solo "ayudaron" al personal a bajar el lábaro patrio y que la situación fue tergiversada, hasta el momento no existe una explicación oficial que aclare quién autorizó el arriamiento fuera de protocolo ni por qué no hubo supervisión adecuada en un sitio que colinda con instalaciones de la Guardia Nacional. Ante la omisión local, ciudadanos y usuarios de redes exigen la intervención inmediata de la Secretaría de Gobernación y de la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR).

Hoy vemos el debilitamiento de instituciones, la expansión de la pobreza, el deterioro de la educación, la crisis de seguridad y el avance del crimen organizado sobre amplias regiones del país. Lo más preocupante no es solamente lo que ocurre desde el poder, sino la indiferencia con la que muchos observan el deterioro nacional.

Las naciones no se pierden únicamente por culpa de sus gobernantes. También se pierden cuando sus ciudadanos renuncian a defenderlas. Cada generación recibe un país como herencia y tiene la obligación de entregarlo mejor de como lo recibió. La gran pregunta de nuestro tiempo es simple y brutal: cuando las futuras generaciones juzguen esta etapa de nuestra historia, ¿qué dirán de nosotros? ¿Que defendimos la República o que permanecimos en silencio, mientras se desmoronaba?

Florence Nightingale walked into a system that was killing wounded soldiers after the battlefield had already failed to kill them.

During the Crimean War, British and allied soldiers were packed into filthy medical wards in Turkey. Disease spread fast and supplies were poor. The ward lacked order. Men who survived bullets were dying from infection, sewage, bad ventilation, and neglect.

Nightingale did the unglamorous work that saves lives.

She cleaned wards, organized care, improved sanitation, and tracked deaths. Used statistics to force reform and advised the British government. Built a nursing school and then helped turn nursing from low-status labor into a trained profession.

That is the part many people miss.

Her faith was also central to her work. As a young woman, she believed God had called her to serve. She did not treat that calling as a private feeling. She turned it into discipline, hours, records, pressure, reform, and care for bodies most powerful people preferred to ignore.

She was called the “Lady with the Lamp,” but the lamp was only the symbol.

The real light was her refusal to accept needless death as normal.

Every nurse and midwife who enters a ward at 3 a.m., checks one more patient, calms one more family, catches one more danger sign, and keeps working through exhaustion belongs to that same line of duty.

Florence Nightingale’s lesson was that care becomes powerful when it is organized enough to save lives.

A lamp matters because someone chooses to carry it where the dying have been left in the dark.
