@slfchkoutbandit If it sounds like a hit song but no one can identify it, then you’ve got a new hit song on your hands! Just finish writing it and it’ll be yours!
I honestly marvel at posts like these, which are not remotely reflective of my experience as a young person in America.
Really makes you wonder if at this point, endless complaining about an obscure and self-inflicted grievance is a kind of luxury item or a status symbol.
Because obviously, there are thousands of homes for sale around the country at rock-bottom rates. There's affordable land for sale in no-building-code counties. There are thousands of houseboats for sale. There are cities with sub-$800/mo rents and wages paying 4x that.
Anyone could marry their girlfriend, her get pregnant, move to one of these places, and *BAM* -- the long sad somber grief over things that "could never be in your grasp" is over.
I say this as a 31-year-old who started with NOTHING, received no favors, no loans, had no money, no credit, no work history, no rental history -- nothing -- and I now own multiple properties.
Join the military, work fisheries in AK, check out the ND-MN sugar beet harvest, hell, start standing out in front of Home Depot after ICE raids holding a sign that says "LEGAL US CITIZEN FOR SAME-DAY HIRE" and see where it gets you. Buy the place in southern IL, northern NY, rural ND, upper MI -- make a plan and make it work.
Or you could blackpill about how your silver platter is never, ever coming. Call me a "boomer" if you wish, but I own land and houses. I practiced what I am preaching. My pregnant wife is asleep in my paid-off, no-mortgage house. I won by doing what I am saying these young guys ought to be doing.
Barring physical or mental disabilities, criminal history, or substance abuse problems, literally any young man could do what I have done if he simply widens the scope of what he is willing to try, what he is willing to tolerate, and where he is willing to go. If, after doing something new for a while, you want to work your way back to your hometown, or to the Big City, go ahead -- home equity will get you up that next rung of the ladder.
This culture of complaining about this stuff is out of control and helps absolutely no one.
Weapons was a 9/10 for me. It might just be personal preference, but I wish the mystery had been a little more grounded with police procedure and a plausible (rational) alternative explanation. #WeaponsMovie

A boy named Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk.
Go to Chili’s. Get the triple dipper. Crispers, mozz sticks, big mouth bites. Get a presidente margarita. Get two. Play games on the kiosk. Get a molten lava cake. Fill out your survey at the end. Put “strongly agree” for everything.
