Everyone is watching Bitcoin. I’m watching what happens to the asset sitting one layer above it: $STX .

The “𝘽𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙖” thesis isn't new, but the recent market action is a pretty good reminder of how it works.

In the 7-day period highlighted here, BTC gained 𝟐𝟓% while STX gained 𝟏𝟎𝟎%+. That’s roughly 𝟒𝐱 the performance.

Historically, STX has behaved like a higher-beta expression of the Bitcoin thesis. But now there’s another variable worth paying attention to: 𝘽𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙨.

The interesting part is the mechanism. BTC remains on Bitcoin L1 while participating in a Stacks staking system, with STX playing a key role in the bonding/capacity mechanism.

The initial design targets 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 3% 𝘽𝙏𝘾 𝙮𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙, while participants need STX worth around 5% of their BTC position.

That creates an interesting piece of math.

$100M of BTC entering the system would imply roughly $5M of STX at a 5% ratio. $1B would imply $50M. $10B would imply $500M.

And STX currently has a market cap of only around $𝟒𝟕𝟎𝐌.

I'm not saying $10B of BTC is suddenly going to enter Stacks.

The point is that Bitcoin Staking introduces a potential demand loop that didn't exist in this form before: 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺.

@Stacks has already demonstrated that Bitcoin capital can be attracted to its ecosystem. Its 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙚𝙧 system has distributed more than 4,200 BTC to stackers since 2021.

Now combine that with STX's historical BTC beta.

BTC is the underlying asset. STX gives you the higher-beta exposure to the Bitcoin economy.

So the interesting question isn't simply whether STX can pump again.

It's what happens if Bitcoin's financial economy expands substantially and STX remains one of the assets required to participate in that expansion.

BTC is the principal, while STX is the convexity.

BTC was sitting around $64,906, and I felt it had enough momentum for a small move higher.

So I took a $1 long on BTC/USDC on @ManicTrade and waited.

One minute later, BTC had moved to $64,912.65.

The result?
+𝟕𝟎% 𝐏𝐧𝐋. +$𝟎.𝟕𝟎 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭.

What I liked was how straightforward the whole trade was:

This is a pretty interesting way to use a prediction market.

The @Nectar_finance's leaderboard already gives you something to follow, but @PantaHQ turns it into a question you can actually take a position on:

Who do you think will finish on top?

You can watch the leaderboard, form your thesis, and see whether the market agrees with you.

I like the idea of turning a live competition into something you can actively speculate on rather than just watch.

The @Nectar_finance Frontier Traders Competition has a $5,000 prize pool, with traders competing on the leaderboard for the top spots.

What makes this more interesting is that @PantaHQ lets you predict how that leaderboard will finish.

I waited until the final day before taking a position. I wanted to see how the leaderboard would actually shape up rather than make an early guess.

And looking at it now, @debar_fx is sitting 14th at +10.73%.

That’s why I’m taking NO on Debar winning outright. With the competition closing today, jumping from 14th to 1st looks like a very difficult ask.

I put $2 on NO. Let’s see how it plays out.

@SuperteamUK The ultimate goal is bigger than reducing a number on a migration chart.

It's about creating concrete changes that become irresistible reasons to stay, and equally strong reasons for talented people elsewhere to look at Britain and think:
