"the anti-Hamas protesters
... in Gaza who are finally discovering their own voices after losing everything are, to me, among the bravest people on Earth"
I can't imagine the resilience and optimism you need for this. To the Israelis who think "there's no partner"
It's rich when a bunch of "solidarity" activists in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, the US, Ireland, Beirut, Jordan, Algeria, Yemen, Pakistan, and Iraq are calling anti-Hamas protesters "traitors" against the "resistance." There is no pro-Palestine movement, just anti-Israel.
@schizosemia Thanks for asking! It's the idea that psychedelics are somehow better, safer, or more desirable than other drugs (i think it's a better label than "exceptionalism"). In the talk, I argue a variant of P-Supremacism is true, but not bc facts abt neurochemistry but abt our culture
Had the pleasure to talk to a room full of wonderful, intelligent people about Psychedelic Supremacism at the APPA conference in SLC. Do yourself a favor and submit next year. (also, ask me about psychedelic supremacism!)
Why dehumanise Palestinians like this?
I'm Palestinian, do you think I am just a bloodthirsty animal?
I've never spilled anyone's blood once in my life.
Condemn the murderer. I do too in the strongest terms, in fact the majority of Palestinians would condemn this too.
Had to take a year off of this platform after Oct 7 and the ensuing shitshow on all fronts and now it feels like I'm late for the techbro zombie apocalypse
The Torah portion for this week (Va-yera) includes the dialogue between Abraham and God, in which God concedes to Abraham that he would not wipe out a wicked city even if there were but ten innocent people living there.

Every mention of a ceasefire is greeted by yells of "So how would YOU get rid of Hamas?"
For what little it is worth, here are my own answers to that question. 🧵
A few days ago: an Arab teacher at a Jewish school wrote a status : There is no power except in God (لا حول ولا قوة الا بالله)a sentence said during times of sorrow and disappointment. She was immediately suspended from school on suspicion of supporting terrorism. She explained to them that her aunt had passed away. They didn't believe her. They asked you to bring a death certificate. did bring and the suspension was lifted. Indeed, there is no power or strength except in God.
Protestors chanting "from the river to the sea" @UCSanDiego this evening.
This isn't poetrty, this is a genocidal call to destroy Israel.

What about muslims of Bosnian origin who migrated in the 1870's? Beduoins from the Hejaz and the Transjordan? The Nashashibis who came to Jerusalem in the late 1500s? Coptic Christinans who migrated in the early 1900s? 3/
I don't really see how a notion of indigeneity that encapsulates all palestinians but excludes jewish israelis is not inherently racist. Are the descendents of ppl who came to the region from egypt during Muhammad Ali's rule indigenous? 2/
