On June 28th, at the @joinobsidi by BPTN Awards, our Founder and CEO, Melisa Ellis received the @BMO Black Tech Community Builder of the Year Award, presented by Vanessa Lewerentz, Chief Inclusion Officer at BMO.

3 years ago, Melisa rallied community leaders together to build an ecosystem where our mandate of supporting 100 Black-owned businesses in STEM by 2025 can be met. This award is a symbol of the change that has been made so far as well as the change we will create going forward.

Black Girls Empowered is a one-day in-person conference for self-identified Black girls in Grades 9 to 11, that will host workshops where the teens can participate in empowering, hands-on activities related to being a Black adolescent female and build community with each other.
