What is life?

Life should be sacred, should be beyond politics, beyond power, and beyond revenge.

But today, when government officials die especially those associated with torture and repression, majority of Ugandans celebrate. Not because death is good, not because hatred is noble, BUT because many feel pushed beyond limit. They feel unheard, brutalized and suffocated.

That alone is a TRAGEDY.

A society reaches a dangerous point when the death of a public official becomes a moment of public relief and celebration.

This means trust has collapsed and justice is absent. It means people feel powerless while those accused of causing suffering live comfortably, shielded by the system.

And what is even more painful is that others do not seem to learn.

We do not pause and ask: How did we get here? How did we reach a place where bitterness is replacing compassion? Where fear is replacing citizenship? Where silence is replacing courage?

Some elders continue defending repression as stability, but repression is not stability, it is a delayed explosion. You cannot build peace on intimidation, you cannot build unity on fear.

If serious national reflection and reset do not happen—if justice, accountability, and genuine reform are not prioritized, then we are entering the most dangerous zone.

Because when citizens lose faith in institutions, and begin to normalize extreme emotions, nations drift toward instability.

Life is precious, power is temporary and therefore we must choose which one we value more.

Uganda still has a chance, but only if we are honest about where we stand.

Uganda's Tax Appeals Tribunal has delivered a Landmark East Africa Customs Union Intra-Trade VAT decision heavily critical of URA’s aggressiveness with taxpayers.

The decision restores the much needed balance in the taxpayer-taxman relationship.
