20 нови сгради на детски градини и ясли вече са отворени от началото на мандата, по още 15 се работи. Започнахме изграждането на нов парк в „Младост“ 3, събираме идеи за „Кукуряк“. Реализирахме най-мащабното обновяване на тротоари в цялата история на София - 440 хил. кв. м, а сега подготвяме и най-мащабната ВиК инвестиция на София от десетилетия.

Много от тези проекти са чакали години, за да стигнат до реализация. Нужно беше време, за да ги подредим, да намерим финансиране и да започнем работа.

Знам, че всяка разкопана улица създава неудобство. Но зад всяка от тях трябва да стои ясна цел – по-свързан, по-подреден и по-добър град за живеене.

The president said that Ukraine had recorded this move and would “adjust” its operation regarding Russian airspace accordingly next week.

Head of the Presidential Office Budanov confirmed that Ukraine had indeed offered Russia a ceasefire for this weekend.

The proposal was conveyed personally to Vladimir Putin. It covered not only airstrikes, but also fighting on the front lines. However, Russia did not respond to it.

Budanov also said that during Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner’s visit to Kyiv on Sunday, Russia would likely not strike the capital. But Russian drones continue to attack Ukraine nonetheless.

Witkoff and Kushner appear to have arrived in Moscow

Convoy vehicles expected to pick up the Americans arrived at Vnukovo Airport.

Trump’s special envoys are flying to Moscow today and will travel to Kyiv tomorrow to meet with Zelenskyy. But the Russian side has extremely low expectations for the trip, according to Bloomberg sources in the Kremlin.

Nobody in Russia intends to pursue a peace deal on Washington’s terms. They are still demanding Ukraine’s de facto capitulation.

And while Zelenskyy is announcing a unilateral pause in strikes in the hope of achieving peace, Putin is responding, as usual, with overnight drone attacks.

EU wants to tighten the rules for issuing tourist visas to Russians

The EU is also considering tighter restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that 40% of Russian diplomatic personnel in the EU are spies. At the same time, he acknowledged that previous measures against Russia are no longer working:

“Every time Russia committed an arson attack, I closed one Russian consulate. But I’ve run out of consulates that can be closed.”

European intelligence services say they cannot always prevent Russian acts of sabotage because of their limited powers.

Discussion of new sanctions began after Germany accused Russia of attempting a drone attack on Leipzig Airport.

The tighter visa restrictions for Russians are being introduced to prevent further acts of sabotage. At the same time, most sabotage operations in Europe are carried out by EU citizens or people from third countries recruited by Russian intelligence services for money.

The new sanctions package may also include additional “shadow fleet” vessels used to transport Russian oil.

Bulgarian PM Radev has made several notable statements this week tying Russia and Europe together, continuing a pattern of positioning Bulgaria as a "rational" voice rather than a hardliner against Moscow.

During blitz parliamentary control on September 4, responding to a question about the drone-with-explosives incident at Leipzig/Halle airport (which Germany has attributed to Russia), Radev delivered his most-quoted line of the week: "Europe can exist without Russia, but it will hardly exist for long against Russia."

He called the Leipzig incident "extremely troubling" and said he shares the assessment of "reckless action" reportedly used by the European Commission president and NATO secretary-general regarding Russia's behavior. At the same time, he stressed unconditional solidarity with Berlin: "We firmly support our leading ally, economic and investment partner Germany, and we stand alongside Germany in response to any hybrid or other attacks."

He also argued that attempts by the "collective West" (Russian term) to achieve a conventional victory over Moscow carry serious risks given Russia's military and nuclear potential — "the largest nuclear power," visible, he said, "every night over Kyiv" through hypersonic weapons use.

In the same parliamentary session, Radev said Bulgaria "must not be drawn further into the escalation of the military conflict" and called for "more reason" in decisions tied to the country's security (generally, a pro-Russian view promoted by multiple aligned parties and figures). He reiterated that Bulgaria remains firmly committed to its European and Euro-Atlantic allies, including Germany, but that this doesn't mean automatically endorsing every initiative that could further sharpen the conflict.

Notably, during a joint appearance with European Council President António Costa on September 3, Radev did not mention Ukraine or Russia at all in his statement — while Costa was explicit that "the Kremlin must stop this war" and that the EU "will not weaken its pressure on Russia." Costa later said on X that the two had discussed Russian aggression in Ukraine, though Radev's own remarks omitted any reference to Kyiv or Chișinău.

Radev's government has a track record of pushing to soften EU sanctions on Russia: in July, Bulgaria's insistence led to the removal of Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill and Lukoil founder Vagit Alekperov from the bloc's 21st sanctions package. He justified this by saying he wasn't personally interested in defending the patriarch but was "concerned about the millions of people" belonging to the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has publicly commented on Radev, saying he "knows him well" and noting Radev campaigned on "national interests rather than subordination to EU bureaucracy," while pointedly observing that some politicians with such convictions "prove susceptible to pressure" once in power — seen by observers as a veiled jab. Moscow's foreign ministry has also praised what it calls a "more restrained" and "rational" shift in Sofia's rhetoric since Radev took office.

Analysts describe Radev as accommodating Moscow more explicitly than his predecessors: he has called repeatedly for a "new security architecture" in Europe that critics say would favor Russian interests, declined to back a Council of Europe war-crimes tribunal for Putin, and has largely avoided direct criticism of Moscow — while still keeping Bulgaria nominally inside NATO and EU frameworks. One assessment describes his approach as wanting to be "in the West, but not all-in," balancing between East and West rather than confronting Russia outright.

Israel has seized one of Hezbollah’s deepest strongholds.

The IDF has reportedly taken and begun demolishing the underground complex under Talet Ali al-Taher in southern Lebanon - a ridge 10–15 km from the border that overlooks much of the southeast.

Built with Iranian help over 20 years, the site was a nerve center for Hezbollah’s Badr unit north of the Litani. Parts sat 40 meters underground, which is why earlier airstrikes failed.

This is a major strategic setback for Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Restoring the complex under Israeli control and surveillance will be difficult.

16 години жителите на „Овча купел“ чакаха този парк. Зад тези 16 години стоеше сложен спор , много нерешени въпроси и много работа, за да стигнем до решение.

Решихме го.

Подписахме спогодбата с БАН и 82 декара вече са отредени за бъдещия парк „Кукуряк“. След толкова години чакане най-после можем да преминем от въпроса „дали ще има парк?“ към много по-хубавия въпрос:

„Какъв парк искаме да има?“

И точно тук искам да чуем хората.

Вече над 100 граждани са споделили своите идеи в анкетата ни. Има предложения за детски площадки, спорт, зеленина, места за почивка и срещи. Има и по-нестандартни идеи. Всички те са важни, защото ни показват как хората си представят това място и от какво имат нужда.

Тези отговори ще помогнат при подготовката на заданието за международния конкурс за парка. През септември и октомври ще продължим и с разговори и работилници с хората от района.

След 16 години чакане сега е време да си представим „Кукуряк“ заедно.
