@CoreArde Spending a good chunk of my days going "๐ซต coward" every time I see a human!Rocky fanart, these days ๐คฃ smh we used to be a proper freak country
I love when fanartists in PHM fandom draw eridians as rocks of varied shapes with five sticks legs. It's my favorite thing ever. Please keep doing it I love it.
That isn't to say that 'doom&gloom' narratives should be thrown out... But there's space for both. One shouldn't preclude the other. And deciding that a story isn't worthwile because it is quote-unquote 'for kids' just sounds miserable and foolish, tbh
While reading opinions on reddit one of the more common criticisms I've seen levelled toward Project Hail Mary is that it is not serious enough, that it is "for kids."
And I wonder... Does a movie *need* to be all broody and gloomy to be worthwile?
Stories about finding support in the most unlikely of places. Stories about trust and affection and forming deep bonds with one another, no matter how different we might be. Stories about hope, and striving to do better.
Petition to rename artificial intelligence to artificial stupidity (because that's what it is), and to pronounce AS with an extra emphasis on the S to make sure it sounds like ass (because that's what it is)
I can't believe that I finally watched project hail mary and when I went to look at fanarts on tumblr I get bombarded with Grace being shipped with some random dude from an entirely different movie. What. Ship the pathetic dude with the space rock as god intended, you cowards ๐ซต
Other fans aren't inherently wrong for the way they interpreted what was put on screen in a far more grim light than you did, nor are they wrong to be disappointed by it. And I say as somebody who as no horse in this race, considering I felt absolutely nothing about this finale.
lowkey noticing a trend between the side who liked the GO finale VS who didn't... If you enjoyed it, that's great, but, like, maybe drop the holier-than-thou attitude of "I understand the story and I like it and if you don't then you're wrong"? It's kinda gross.
Went to Rome to hang out with friends yesterday and had a lot of fun-- I wish I could go more often, but dang, them train tickets are a robbery, sob ๐ข
I can only guess that the post-covid normification of fandom has fully run its course, because wtf? People are treating shipping the most milquetoast obligatory-canon het couple like some daring act of rebellion and if you don't ship them you are a mysoginist, apparently ๐ ffs
