The suffering was etched all over his face, which was chewing.

He had not opened it by nightfall.

That is the point. He could. He simply had not decided to want to.

But don't take my word for it. Check out the 2023 study link below. It encompassed 789 participants, of which 118 developed dementia during the decade long follow up period.

Cutting sugar won't automatically protect you from dementia but it will meaningfully lower the risk. That is, if these researchers and the researchers behind multiple other similar studies are to be believed.
