Just me and the big fella this morning. Boof and Bec are out on the horses with Chloe The Kelpie. Fucking Frank is too much of a psycho to be allowed to go with them @barrelracernt
When I was a 9 year old boy my dad signed me & my brothers up as foundation members of the @freodockers back in the summer of 1994.
I remember bursting out in tears when he told me as I went for west coast who’d just come off the back of the 94 flag. I was at an age where you still did as your parents told you so I put on a brave face & rolled up to my tiny wheatbelt primary school the next day-which was eagles heartland & told everyone I now go for freo-It was brutal.
My dad supported Claremont in the WAFL & loved going for the underdog was his reasoning.
Unfortunately he passed away in 1996 but my mum still took me & my brother to the footy every week as a way of remembering our dad. Those first 10 years were brutal, getting belted every week, but we kept turning up.
I’m now 40, a father myself & to say thanks to my mum for everything I’m taking her to the grand final 😊
Dare to dream! #foreverfreo 💜
@PointBreakSD Yeah, could definitely be the same one. Interesting nothing was reported around Scarborough this morning though. Hopefully it’s moved on now
🤣 Back in 1988 on the last day of school I smuggled a six pack into school in a cool pack in my bag. Just so we could enjoy our last school bus ride home with a smile 👍😎
Don’t think you’d get away with it now though 💯🥳
Psychology says some people avoid socializing not because they hate people, but because they can read them too well. They walk into a room and immediately sense the fake laughs, the hidden agendas, the performances. Their nervous system doesn’t misread the signal, it just refuses to ignore it. Small talk feels like a tax they didn’t agree to pay. Forced smiles cost them energy that takes hours to recover.
They’re not broken. They’re calibrated differently. They don’t avoid people. They avoid emotional labor that leads nowhere. When they do connect, it’s deep, intentional, real. No masks. No games. Fewer friends doesn’t mean loneliness. It means higher standards.
That’s not antisocial behavior. That’s emotional intelligence.
