@EvanRobertsWFAN Does Spence now know what a doubleheader is now that you talked about it on The Rico? I don’t know how you are going to get him to leave before the nightcap again!
@tangotiger Thanks--for my own sake I'll assume the 2012-22 sample is appropriately representative of today.
Now back to calculating whether a worse way to strand first and second with one out is a double play or two strikouts...
I am a psych major with no life.
@tangotiger Hey Tom, wondering if you have an RE24 matrix using 2025 data. Last year I made a silly stat that tries to quantify the emotional pain of missed scoring opportunities. I'm looking to update the 2024 table I used or insert a multiyear table to reduce noise. Thanks!
@T1D_Dad@MattGelb If the offender is a defender (lol), I suppose your solution would add an additional ball to the count of the current hitter beyond the ball that was called? Or are you saying that the next half-inning would start with an 0-1 count on the violating team’s first hitter?
@ChoppinBravos That said, it's interesting to see it all laid out here. They're maybe not in a never-ending hell like COL or LAA, I certainly bought hard into the "Acuña's pittance of a contract means the Braves are invincible" narrative. And Truist Park was a house of horrors for us for years.
@ChoppinBravos As a Phillies fan who doesn't know the intricacies of the Braves well, I tend to think of their post-2021 shortcomings as bad luck rather than bad process. I think our fanbases probably share a similar sense of recent underachievement...but you guys have the ring to fall back on.
