Roblox has terminated our founder’s developer account, which runs games with over 162 million visits, after an image ID hidden inside the script of a free toolbox asset was automatically re-uploaded by our asset tool.
We did not create or select this image, and we are unable to view it on our end, so we don’t even know what it contains. Our tool bulk re-uploaded every image used in our game (7,499 in total) to our group, including image IDs referenced in scripts, and one of them turned out to be an ID hidden inside a toolbox asset’s script. The original image was uploaded back in 2008 by an account Roblox has since banned. This was not our fault, and we would have no reason to put four years of work at risk.
This account holds all of our studio’s work at Nomad Studios: 22 games, over 6 million favorites, and communities with over 4.6 million members. We’ve disabled the tool and now review every asset by hand. PLEASE look into this 🙏
