In collaboration with dancer and performer Chris Emile, LAND presents The Horse. Coming up September 15th, 17th, and 18th!⁠
The Horse is a 45 minute immersive performance directed, choreographed and performed by Chris Emile.

Emile reassesses what traditional balletic training deems the role of the performer/dancer. The resulting work embodies ancestral knowledge, reverence for African religions, the human-divine connection, and reclaims the relationship between body and spirit.⁠

The Horse combines somatic practice, theology and research into the origins of ballet to reassess what traditional balletic training deems the role of the performer/dancer. It is is a contemporary ritual, meant to evoke the supernatural experience of spiritual possession.

🎞️Along with her Soundscapes debut, LAND is planning a screening of Ordoñez’s recent mini-documentary about Valley artists as a part of LAND's programming series, Frame Rate.⁠

🔊LAND would like to announce the release of the third L.A. Summer Mix presented as a part of Soundscapes: Soltera. Artist Tania Ordoñez has handpicked a mix of songs for this special playlist that reflect the experience of growing up in the San Fernando Valley.✨

Her intention with Soltera is to create a cathartic experience where people can come together to dance and let go. Ordoñez is also a filmmaker, DJ and co-runs an underground LA based collective called Casa/Teca.⁠
