Tomorrow's Shop Drop introduces a series of firsts for Pirate Nation 👑

The most exciting change is that 50% of $PIRATE collected from ALL sales in the Shop (Skins and Gems alike), will be programmatically burned.

What is the $PIRATE Burn Mechanic for the Shop?
Starting now, 50% of all $PIRATE spent in the Shop will be burnt programmatically, removing it from the total and circulating supply permanently. This means there will be fewer $PIRATE tokens available on the market in perpetuity.

How long will this last?
We're starting this burn mechanic effective immediately and will leave it in place for the foreseeable future. We may adjust the amount burned or alter or substitute the burn mechanic at a later date, which we will announce accordingly.

Why are we launching this?
It has always been our intention to try new things at the intersection of player ownership, game economies, and onchain incentives.

Burning $PIRATE introduces new dynamics and game theory to our ecosystem while reducing the circulating supply of Pirate Nation's utility token. This first drop will help inform our future strategy and other plans regarding $PIRATE burns and our wider game economy.
