A Gen Z joined the team.

Week one.

During onboarding, the manager said,
“We sometimes stay late during peak periods.”

Gen Z nodded.

Then asked,
“Is that paid… or just expected?”

The room went quiet.

- No attitude.

So Gen Z chose differently.

They still work hard.

Kiharu Masomo Bora - 2026 Edition.

Grateful to have launched the program today.

1.The Programme covers over 12,000 learners in all 65 Day Secondary Schools in Kiharu.

3.All learners to be served lunch at School on all days, including Saturdays. Githeri 3 days and rice 3 days. Uji for “tea” break.

4.Chapati to be served for lunch every last Friday of the Month.

5.Additional Ksh 10 M for revision materials to be provided by Kiharu NG – CDF this Financial Year. Ksh 20M has been provided in the previous years.

6.More than Ksh 50M to be provided for additional infrastructure, with a bias on laboratories. More has been provided since the programme started.

7.All students joining grade 10 in the 20 identified schools with low enrolment and the new schools (those starting this year) to be provided with uniforms for free.

8.All the 65 Day Schools will be provided with an extra Ksh 50,000 to supplement the activity kitty since capitation is not enough. For music festivals, games, and co-curricular activities.

9.Ksh 900,000 is provided for prize-giving celebrations. Ksh 450,000 for each of the two Sub Counties (Murang’a East and Kahuro). This is to reward the best performers without having parents pay for it.

10.The best improved teacher per subject in each of the sub-counties to get a paid-up trip to Mombasa. This will include the previous year, since some were participating in the marking of KCSE when they could have travelled. (From the MP – since public resources don’t have this provision).

11.Principals from the best and best-improved schools per ward to have a fully paid-up trip to Dubai. Of the 6 wards, twelve Principals will travel. Those who have travelled to Dubai before may choose to travel to Malaysia.

12.Schools with remedial arrangements capped at Ksh 1,000 per Term.

Kenya’s pay gap has officially crossed into dangerous territory. New data now shows that top CEOs in Kenya earn 214 times more than the average teacher, revealing one of the widest income inequalities in the region. This gap is not just a statistic—it is a mirror of a broken economic architecture where those who hold privilege at the top accumulate more, while those who hold the nation together are rewarded the least.

Teachers—who wake up before sunrise, manage overcrowded classrooms, shape national values, nurture future engineers, pilots, and CEOs—earn in a whole year what a CEO makes in a single day. It is a brutal contradiction: the people entrusted with the intellectual future of our children remain among the most underpaid professionals in the country.

This growing divide is also a symptom of deeper policy failures. It signals how Kenya has prioritised boardrooms over classrooms, privilege over talent, and corporate lobbying over public service welfare. A society that underpays its teachers is one that slows its own progress—because no economy can rise faster than the quality of its education system.

Meanwhile, executives continue to negotiate multi-million shilling bonuses, stock options, housing allowances, fuel cards, club memberships, business-class travel, and golden pensions—benefits teachers can only dream about even after 30 years of service.

The question is no longer why this gap exists. The evidence is clear: unchecked corporate governance, weak labour protections, political complicity, and a collapsing wage policy framework. The real question Kenya must confront is whether this level of inequality is sustainable—and what it means for the next generation.

If teachers remain undervalued, demoralised, and underpaid, the quality of education collapses. When education collapses, productivity collapses. And when productivity collapses, an economy dies slowly—from the classroom outward.

This 214:1 CEO–teacher pay ratio should not just spark outrage. It should spark policy reform, public debate, and a national reckoning about the kind of country we want to build. Because a nation where CEOs thrive while teachers drown is not a nation preparing for prosperity—it is a nation preparing for crisis.

Let’s just be honest, this Mbeere North story is not about who won. It’s about how the government nearly fainted on live TV.

This morning, let me bring your attention to something serious. As I’ve always said: Tunaibiwa.

Yesterday I uncovered a lot, but today it gets even darker.

Can William Ruto and Treasury CS Mbadi explain to Kenyans where $3,059,203.20 (≈ KSh 396 million) they took from the World Bank on 27th June 2024 went?

I am attaching evidence below.

This money was borrowed from the World Bank after Ruto’s government promised that it would:

Equip all students with new or improved access to high-speed internet,

Provide energy-efficient computers, laptops, and tablets to schools, TVETs, and universities under the project, etc. (I’ve attached snippets).

Apparently, Ruto’s government signed a $350 million loan from the World Bank for the Kenya Digital Acceleration Project. Their stated objectives included free high-speed internet for schools, among others. That’s why you’ve been hearing all this digital transformation noise.

On the 27th, about $3 million was sent to Treasury accounts.

Now here’s the interesting part:

I dug deeper and found the company that was allegedly paid by the World Bank financiers — VISCAR INDUSTRIAL CAPA LTD.

A deeper search shows that the company is owned/led by Eng. David Mulongo, the Founder, CEO, and Managing Director.

So I decided to learn more about Mulongo. In the process, I came across former CS Debora Mulongo, who seems to be related. Further digging brought up a screenshot suggesting that the CS also has ties to Wetangula. But that’s a story for another day.

So the chain looks like this:
World Bank → Treasury → Mulongo’s company → ??? (Ruto & friends?).
And by that, you know we are screwed.
My biggest question is this:
👉 Why is it that, as we speak, no schools have been connected to high-speed internet, and no students have received free internet devices?

👉 Where is the KSh 396 million that Ruto and others borrowed on behalf of Kenya for this purpose?

👉 Can you show us how many schools you have actually connected to high-speed internet?

So bad is the situation that the wb after releasing the 396m the wb review of its spending was "moderately satisfactory " Wiziiii

It really sucks that students in rural areas are struggling with CBC without internet, yet you’re taking loans in Kenya’s name for this exact purpose and doing nothing.

What’s worse is that they are waiting for another close to KSh 35 billion from the same project. If they took KSh 396 million and can’t show what they did with it, what will be the fate of the KSh 35 billion?

People are taking loans in our name as a country and eating the money. Even the Taptengelei noise ended once they got the money, then they went silent.

We are being robbed.
