Last season we struggled when Saka got injured because we had no real RW replacement.
Berta is now addressing that problem, and people are crying about it. If it’s a good deal financially, what’s the problem?
🚨🔴⚪️ Understand Arsenal have now started advancing on personal terms discussions with Noni Madueke.
Madueke hasn’t asked to leave Chelsea at this stage, focused on Club World Cup; meanwhile he’s understood to be open to Arsenal move.
Nothing agreed/close between clubs yet.
Trust is the single most important attribute for a backup goalkeeper.
My concern with Meslier is that we’ve seen too many times he has a calamity mistake in him.
Arsenal will find themselves back in the Kepa situation where Raya ends up playing every meaningful game because the manager simply can’t trust his No.2.
It’s not a coincidence that Mikel Merino keeps scoring important goals.
At this point, it’s a genuine trait of his game.
The variety of finishes he has, whether it’s in the air, off one touch or arriving late into the box, makes him a constant goal threat.
Arsenal missed that weapon towards the end of last season, and I can’t wait to have him back.
He’s a lethal weapon Spain can call upon.
The best squads aren’t built by replacing stars.
They’re built by reducing the drop off when those stars are not available.
• Rice → Bruno G
• Saliba → Konsa
• Trossard (if he leaves) → Rogers
• Timber → Livramento
Arsenal can’t afford another season where key players are rushed back. Recruitment has to give them that protection.
Thomas Tuchel is tapping into his Mikel Arteta bag here.
Creating an “us against the world” mentality gives players something to rally around. It builds resilience, togetherness and that extra edge when the game gets difficult.
It’s exactly what Arteta has cultivated at Arsenal over the last few years, and you can see Tuchel trying to do the same with England.
Every single person who questioned Jude Bellingham before this World Cup should hang their head in shame.
We’ve just witnessed one of the greatest England performances we have ever seen. Two goals, at the Azteca, dragging England through one of the biggest games imaginable.
Leader. Warrior. World class.
What a football player.
Give Martin Ødegaard his flowers tonight, he has absolutely run the show tonight.
He dictated the entire game, everything Norway did went through him and Brazil simply couldn’t get near him.
- 101/109 passes completed.
- Most touches in the opposition box.
- Covered every blade of grass.
An outstanding performance.
Barcola has shown his current limitations against a low block tonight.
He’s devastating when there’s space to attack, but against a deep defence where every touch is in tight areas, he doesn’t have the same impact.
If Martinelli stays, Arsenal need a different type of solution.
Both signings improve Arsenal.
But if Martinelli is staying, I’d actually lean towards Morgan Rogers over Barcola.
It’s not about who the better player is, it’s about balance.
Martinelli and Barcola share a lot of the same strengths. Both thrive attacking space in behind and offer similar profiles.
Rogers gives Arsenal something completely different. His ability to carry the ball centrally, operate between the lines and solve games in a different way gives Arsenal far more variation across the frontline.
For me, having different profiles is more valuable than doubling up on similar ones.
Trossard was only signed because Arsenal missed out on Mudryk.
He saved Arsenal millions, delivered countless clutch moments, never once hid when called upon and gave everything every time he wore the shirt.
Every title winning squad needs a player like Trossard. If he leaves, Arsenal will miss him more than people realise.
One of the most technically gifted midfielders of his generation, a player adored for his aesthetic, chooses Declan Rice in his three man midfield.
Yet some people on this app still insist Rice isn’t technically good enough because he doesn’t fit their aesthetic of what a midfielder should look like.
Maybe it’s time they updated their opinion.
Given the current market, this is insulting.
Trossard is still one of the top wingers in Europe and still has a couple more years performing at the top level.
I don’t care how old he is, that price should be doubled.
There’s a difference between patience and stubbornness.
I understand a lot of the players Arsenal want are currently playing in the World Cup so these deals are a lot slower to get done, but that didn’t stop Man City with Anderson.
If we really want a player, we have to put our premier league title on the table and take that player. The problem will rarely ever be on the player side, most players would love to play for Arsenal, the problem is trying to lowball every club for their most valuable players.
This is Arsenal football club. We want to win everything. Winning starts by being dominant in the market.
Pau Cubarsí has been almost flawless throughout this World Cup.
He plays with a composure that players 10 years older would be proud of, rarely puts a foot wrong and is already one of the best ball playing centre backs in the world.
Top, top quality.
The issue isn’t losing out on Monga.
The issue is, Arsenal had this in the bag, and yet we’ve fumbled it through being stingy, like we’ve historically always been.
We need to move like champions with everything we do, on the pitch and off and this isn’t it.
If Arsenal are looking for someone who can replicate Saliba’s profile, Konsa makes a lot of sense.
Similar physical profile, composed in possession, excellent in duels and rarely looks rushed.
No one is replacing Saliba one for one, but Konsa would make the drop off far smaller than most.
Arteta experimented this vs West Ham and learnt his lesson quickly.
When you have Rice, one of the best box to box midfielders in the world, you lose all control of the midfield when u push him out to right back.
The only reason it worked today was because Congo no longer posed a threat, and the fact Rice is so complete he can do a job in multiple positions.
Arsenal fans need to stop panicking.
If Arsenal truly wanted a player, do people honestly think Tottenham would stop us from signing him?
The best recruitment teams are never reactionary.
Just relax.
One thing I’ll give Tuchel credit for today was creating that Arsenal triangle of Rice, Saka and Eze down the right in the second half.
The chemistry and understanding between them gave England far more control in possession.
Once they started combining consistently, it opened up the rest of the pitch and England looked much more dangerous.
This England tournament still feels very Gareth Southgate-esque.
Long periods of frustrating football, struggling to create clear chances, and then somehow finding a way to win.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely delighted England are through, but the performances have left a lot to be desired.
I’d be happy if Saka didn’t start another game this tournament.
Keep his minutes low, bring him on late, and let him decide games in short bursts.
He’s clearly not fully fit, so 20–30 minutes of top level Saka is more valuable than 70 minutes at half intensity.
