Police Arrest One Suspect in Limpopo for 12 Murders and 13 Attempted Murders as Manhunt for Two Others Continues

Gauteng Serious and Violent Crime Investigations have arrested a suspect linked to the Atteridgeville mass shooting that left 12 people dead and 13 others injured. The arrest marks a major breakthrough in a case that shocked Gauteng, with police confirming the suspect was traced and apprehended outside the province after weeks of intensive investigations.

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested in Limpopo on 21 December 2025 after investigators tracked his movements. The multidisciplinary SAPS team, including Crime Intelligence, established that the suspect was travelling towards Botlokwa and alerted Limpopo police, providing a description of both the suspect and the vehicle he was using.

Members of the Limpopo Tracking Team intercepted the suspect on the R101 road in the Westenburg policing precinct. During the arrest, police recovered an unlicensed handgun believed to have been used in the commission of the multiple murders. The firearm will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for ballistic analysis.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on 22 December 2025 on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He will thereafter be transferred to Gauteng, where he is expected to face additional charges related to the mass killing once court processes allow.

The case relates to a deadly shooting that occurred on 6 December 2024, when three suspects opened fire at an illegal shebeen operating from a hostel room in Saulsville. Twelve people were killed and 13 others were wounded in the attack, prompting an extensive manhunt by specialised police units.

Gauteng SAPS Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni praised the collaboration between Gauteng and Limpopo police. He said the arrest showed progress in holding the perpetrators accountable, adding that police remain confident the remaining two suspects will be arrested to answer for the heinous crimes committed.

The government is actually planning to give undocumented children birth certificates.

Advocate Simba Chitando an Illegal Immigrant Lawyer from Zimbabwe is going to have his Fate known by Tuesday 6 May 2025.

Patriotic South Africans have instructed @HomeAffairsSA to produce evidence of Simba's status in the Country.

Minister of Home Affairs to address Parliament fully on the Issue by Tuesday.

This follows a Complaint at the LPC and Home Affairs by Patriotic Forces, @ForcesPFSA that Advocate Simba Chitando is an Illegal Immigrant.

After the Complaint the LPC launched and Investigation and demanded a reply from Simba Chitando before May 30.

Home Affairs also made an Investigation, tasking their most Senior Manager to Investigate

Advocate Simba Chitando must be Deported.

On Tuesday the Minister must:

Answer the Question: Is Simba Legal in South Africa. Does he have the South African Citizenship which entitles him to practice as Advocate.

An Investigation by Patriots showed that no records of Simba are at HOME AFFAIRS prompting a Complaint.
