«Nowhere in the world, in no act of genocide, in no war, are so many people killed per minute, per hour and per day as those who are killed by hunger and poverty on our planet»
- Fidel Castro (at the World Health Assembly in Geneva.1998)
I find this suggestion ... sending terrestrial lifeforms on an interstellar journey to populate the galaxy w/ life (even tho the chances are slim it wld work) rather disturbing.
Are we so taken w/ ourselves as to think that act would improve the state of the cosmos?
My "walk around the block"... the beach stretch, a couple of hours ago. And to the right, on the horizon, just the distant tip of the maunga #Taranaki.
So lucky to be living close enough to this surf just now to hear it day and night.

"As a child, she became friends with the cows that were living in her backyard".
Often thought little kids show how we're born with the right instincts. But we soon extinguish that, saying we need animals for #meat.

If meat's wanted.. support #cellag#cellbasedmeat.
This morning, on my walk to the Castlecliff Sunday Market...
A monarch #butterfly on a hedge by the footpath, in the (almost) #Spring sunshine.
#Whanganui
An almost empty Castlecliff Beach.
And just visible way up the coast, the gorgeous all-over-white maunga says it really is #winter.

Six hours ago, with the sun setting on #WorldOceanDay... two seagulls keeping an eye on the Duncan Pavillion on the #beach at CastlecIiff near #Whanganui.
