We’re aware of a technical issue affecting some Nedbank digital banking services, including the Money App and Online Banking. Our teams are working urgently to restore service. Clients can continue banking via branches, Self-Service Kiosks and our Contact Centre.
My mom always used to say, “What’s done in the dark will always come to light.” People may escape consequences for a while, but the truth has a way of revealing itself.
I have a deep respect for people's privacy. I can be very close to someone for years and still not know everything about them, and I never feel the need to ask. And It's not like I don't care. I believe that if someone hasn't chosen to share something, it isn't my place to ask!!
I’m such a "thank you so much" typa girl because i understand that nobody is obligated to do anything for me, so i'll always appreciate the people who choose to show up for me.!
It could be any of us. A body on the news. A sister, daughter, mother. A body on the news. Just another body to add to the countless other bodies on the news. These women’s lives mattered!
Assassinating others’ character by forcing a false narrative onto them created out of jealousy and envy is such an ugly character flaw. Very pathetic, very loser.
The failure to submit Municipalities and set of candidates to the IEC is a scandalous incident that cannot be joked about . As leadership if we cannot be embarrassed by this we aren't worth the idea
This has happened before. On SAFM..MANY years ago. A caller, not even a guest, made some defamatory comments about Blade Nzimande and the ANC. They went beyond commentary and critique. The presenter just sat there like a statue. Didn't counter anything, didn't correct anything. Blade rightly took it to the BCCSA. And won.
I remember this case because the industry didn't even react. I went to my boss at 702 and persuaded her of the enormity of the case and implications for talk radio. This case meant as a talkshow host your duty no longer ends with challenging newsmakers who lie and misrepresent facts, you NOW ALSO had a duty to subject callers to the same challenge. It was significant in that we could not claim that we are not responsible for what our callers say. If their comments were inflammatory, defamatory and untruthful, we had to set the record straight instead if "thanks for the call."
My view was that the case warranted an extra layer of training and strategies- possible responses especially when you as the presenter are not sure of the claims..what do you say? We needed tools. My boss said "Good, Miss Editorial, go and design the workshop, find the right trainers and let's do it." It was a long time ago. We had a great, challenging workshop.
These things matter. Broadcasting is a very powerful platform. You can't sit there like a Zombie and allow the platform to be hijacked for nefarious reasons. It is a betrayal of editorial standards and an insult to listeners. But we are in an era of influencers versus hosts with sound editorial training.
Thandi Chisi is the reigning Miss Malawi. But it’s her first runner-up, Ireen Navicha, who is representing Malawi at Miss World 2026.
But there’s more to the story than that. BBC's Chiamaka Enendu breaks down what happened and the disputed claims.
I feel pretty let down by the fact that I grew up believing terrible people would face consequences for doing terrible things, and yet, that is precisely the opposite of what is happening in the world.
Don't let a 10-minute problem consume a 24-hour day. The email was uncomfortable. The train was late. The conversation went poorly. Feel it, deal with it, then allow the rest of your life to remain intact.
