Dear #IHOPKC leaders, @bennettisaac , @LennyLaGuardia , General Fuller, @stuartgreaves , David Sliker, Marci Sorge, @mikebickle and anyone new on the board or ELT: the time for reckoning has come. Up until now you have gaslit, denigrated and dismissed anyone who has brought allegations that you know…KNOW…to be true. Your contempt up until now for the victims and those advocating for them has been nothing shy of heinously evil. Let’s be honest. We all know why you have fought against a true independent third party investigation. You know what they’ll find. We know what they’ll find. But it’s time. We all know it’s going to be bad. Really bad. But it doesn’t get better from here. With each passing day that you try to maintain control over the situation, it gets worse. Each day you try to stay ahead of it, you make it that much worse. Today is the best day for full exposure you’re ever going to have. Tomorrow it will be worse. And the day after that and the day after that. You raised up people to have the toughness and dedication to show up when they didn’t feel like it. To play and pray until it hurt. They sacrificed finances, families and everything else this world has to offer to “keep the fire on the altar.” These people are not weaklings. They don’t give up. If you have thought that you could spin and DARVO your way through this until everyone gave up and moved on, you have underestimated the people who have come through your doors. There are thousands of stories of sexual and spiritual abuse (mostly spiritual). If you think these voices will be silent while the world watches with open eyes what you are doing, you have made a grave miscalculation. This isn’t going away. You have effectively silenced the many voices who have spoken out in the past, but those days are over. The collateral damage will be the hundreds of wonderful people who still fill your buildings and the thousands upon thousands around the world who have looked to you for leadership as they build their own prayer ministries. That collateral damage is not on the heads of those who cried out for justice, but on you—the ones who created and fostered the injustice. Whatever weapons and armor you are still clinging to, it is time to lay them down and fully surrender to what the Lord has in store for you. It won’t be fun, but it will be much better than when it is done to you. Bend your knee today to a fully open, true independent third party investigation into all of IHOPKC agreed to by any Jane Does, Boz and those directly advocating for these women.
