Three fundamental themes inform the blizzard of Trump's executive actions: 1]Trump wants to eliminate all federal govt programs designed to aid the poor and minority groups 2]he wants to destroy any govt agency that seeks to regulate the rich oligarchs who got him elected and 3]
I'm tired of these TV studio experts who haven't set foot in Ukraine for 3 years & keep repeating everywhere: «Ukraine has lost! Ukraine no longer wants to fight! Ukraine is at its wits' end!» I know the ground. This is false. Ukraine has, more than ever, the will to win.
These leaders in industry, policy, and labour know that our free trade deal with the United States is a win-win.
They’re fighting with us to protect it — for workers and businesses on both sides of the border.
American business gets it. Trump tariffs would hurt us all on both sides of the border. The North Country Chamber of Commerce says it best: https://t.co/JOAUJdXDkg
#ACTUALNEWS Michael Bloomberg and U.S. philanthropists will cover the U.S.'s financial obligations to the UN climate framework after Trump’s second call to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Bloomberg Philanthropies will ensure the U.S. meets emissions reporting despite Trump's climate retreat.
BREAKING: California Governor Gavin Newsom punches back hard after Donald Trump exploits the deadly Los Angeles wildfires to demand political concessions in return for federal relief funds.
Newsom is putting his money where his mouth is while Trump plays politics...
"Conditioning aid for American citizens is wrong," Newsom said bluntly through his press office before debunking Trump's claims—
"FACT: Under current CA law you must be a CA resident and US citizen (and attest to being one under penalty of perjury) AND provide a form of ID such as driver’s license or passport that has been approved by the Secretary of State in order to register to vote."
"FACT: 15 states do not generally require voter ID at polls, including Nevada and Pennsylvania (two states won by President Trump)."
"FACT: California pumps as much water now as it could under prior Trump-era policies."
Newsom's office was responding to the vile demands Donald Trump made earlier today day, during which the so-called president shamelessly politicized a natural disaster.
"I want to see two things in Los Angeles," Trump told reporters in North Carolina. "Voter ID, so that the people have a chance to vote, and I want to see the water be released and come down into Los Angeles and throughout the state."
"Those are the two things. After that, I will be the greatest president that California has ever seen,” he insisted.
Unfortunately for him, Governor Newsom is no pushover. Just yesterday he signed a $2.5 billion relief package that will be "made available immediately" for disaster recovery, debris removal, logistics work, traffic management, and more.
Trump plays politics. Newsom gets the job done.
