my aunty, the one who used to reject suitors, has finally accepted what she once refused.

growing up, I used to hear my mum talk about her. she kept turning them down because it had to be someone from one particular church.

people talked while she was in her prime. she didn't care. she held on until menopause hit her.

I was chatting with my mum the other day, and she said,

"nne, aunty unu is getting married"

me: "which of my aunties"

mum: "how many of them do you have? aunty Mercy o."

the first question I asked was,

"nne di mma... was it our church member?"

she said no.

so she married someone who was not from the church she spent her best years waiting on.

I called her and congratulated her.

but I couldn't stop thinking:

"why wait until late to settle down because of church, when she could have chosen someone in her prime and actually enjoyed the life she was saving for later?"

would you hold that line... or would you have folded earlier?

In the midnight of Tuesday September 15, my next door neighbour’s house caught fire due to gas leakage

We did our best with the help of other people within the neighborhood, to put out the fire. But unfortunately, a lot of properties were lost, and the fire also affected part of my apartment.

Been able to secure another place and have successfully moved in.

This is me saying a big thank you to all those who reached out to me during the time I was off. I truly appreciate you all.

At this point, all I can say to everyone is "be at peace with your neighbours because, tomorrow is pregnant."

You remember this tweet @Prezain_LJ ? This is how intentional I can be with gifts.

I had two weddings to attend on that day 20th June, but I made sure I attended the church service for the first one and gave him a baby hanger as my gift.

As I was leaving for the second wedding, he handed me an umbrella souvenir, which is still in my car till today.

Not every occasion has to be about money, especially weddings. Sometimes, the little things you give can carry more meaning because they remind the recipient of the day.

Everything about a wedding ought to be SYMBOLIC. Do you think otherwise?

One of the dangers of telling a lie is that you'll need another lie to defend the first one. And if you aren't caught, you'll need a few more lies to keep the story alive.

Your next attempt may be to pose with an itel phone in the bathroom. But guess what? It still won't change the fact that you lied in the first instance.

The unfortunate part of this whole thing is that you'll go scot-free, and more mad people will be birthed.

There has to be a permanent cure this persistent madness and I expect the victim in this instance to do the needful.
