Austin has watched a lot of wrestling. David hasn't really watched any wrestling. Together, they dissect some of the best and worst pro wrestling has to offer!
ICYMI: Episode 161 is out now! It’s the night after Fall Brawl 1996, and after WCW’s epic failure, Sting turns his back to the camera and on all his doubters. He’s a FREE AGENT NOW. Plus, the 1-2-3 does some basic match and becomes nWo 4 Lyfe. https://t.co/T5vlm88Hmp
@TheyLive420 At least when people try to whine about how “y’all wouldn’t survive the Attitude Era” that was a successful era of wrestling. The Ruthless Aggression era was thought of as hacky and stupid contemporaneously! It’s why viewership started tanking!
@TheShadowSaber Punk coming back and immediately being a headache for 3 months absolutely made the Elite look better. I’ve always been on the side that Punk was being paranoid and believing what he wanted wrt the dirtsheet rumors, but you could conceivably argue the Elite “wronged him”.
Pro wrestling will never move forward or get any better until we have new voices and minds in creative roles. They still have to be good where their merit is priority but rotating the same twenty faces in those roles for three decades now is an albatross.
@_AEWatson@realjctwrp@WrestlingMark16 Enough “sickos” got mad at Hangman over taking a selfie with Marty that Hangman had to acknowledge it and apologize for it, but sure, they’ll all defend Tessa.
@Victorr525 Even when it was cool, it was also blatantly paper thin and, imo, was already running out of steam before Punk got himself fired. There were only so many Friends of CM Punk to book.
@dragoneyes06@IVPvideos Utility players better understand the mindset of guys who have to grind harder to get a spot because they don’t quite have the natural talent to be a star. Makes them better teachers/coaches.
@WigginsWick22@C0__63@818Kira_ It’s very well publicized that The Elite would have gone to WWE if TK never came to them about starting AEW.
Most if not all of the people on that list would have went to WWE if AEW wasn’t there, because NJPW can’t afford to keep them around.
@eternalepure Unless AEW wants to invest in losing money on house shows, there’s simply no way for AEW to have the infrastructure to develop wrestlers with actual matches in front of live crowds on a consistent basis. They only have so many hours a week.
@SuitWilliams TBF, the rankings and interim titles were proof that AEW’s audience generally can’t be trusted to go along with anything that is unique to the American TV Wrestling format. Just nonstop bitching and “confusion” over how those concepts worked.
@odd_house1@SuitWilliams Even in the world of kayfabe, AEW is explicitly run by Tony Khan and all matches are made official by his say so. Guys reference “talking to Tony Khan” when they want something done and commentary cites TK when matches are made. TK just isn’t a regular on-screen character.
@Kng0fTheN0rth I think it’s shitty that TK/AEW were getting heat for not booking Iroha in that spot when Sareee was the only person who ever brought her up.
@martyngnr@totalfailure85@IANdrewDiceClay Bobby Heenan spent his entire career treating every Hogan act in the most uncharitable light possible. Bash at the Beach just happened to be the night he was right.
