📣 CALL TO ACTION: The Trump Administration recently suspended key sanctions exemptions that had protected academic, humanitarian, cultural, and other exchanges with people in Iran. Already, Iranians inside and outside the country - including in the United States - are facing new barriers to educational testing, travel, and access to services.
NIAC is working to document these impacts, raise awareness of the harm to ordinary people, and work with our allies in Congress to push for action to reverse these discriminatory policies.
If you or someone you know has been affected in any way, including being barred from academic services, had flights to or from Iran canceled, have been forced to terminate financial support for family members in Iran or cancel planned sports or cultural exchanges, please fill out this form and share it widely. The more stories we can document, the stronger our case will be to demand action from policymakers and protect our community.

If you’ve been locked out of @LSAC_Official’s services due to being Iranian, please take the step mentioned in this video to try and remedy the situation asap.
You can always count on Black women to be courageous when others cower in fear.
And, no, I obviously do not support the Islamic Republic, but I’ll always support Iran.
Platforming a White man who is also a regime propagandist and has taken IRGC sponsored trips to Iran—and has mocked Iranian (and Syrian) suffering—versus platforming an Iranian with lived experience in Iran under the Islamic Republic is shameful.
I’ve visited your establishment when in DC, and I will no longer do so.
People are upset about the World Cup because instead of bringing the world together it’s another reminder of how unjust the world is.
It’s not a conspiracy. A Somali referee was denied entry to the U.S., that’s a fact. The U.S. tried to swap Iran for Italy, and then mistreated the team, that’s a fact. The U.S. president made a call to reverse a red card for an American player, that’s a fact…
From discrimination and over-priced tickets, to commercial breaks and VAR issues, many people who have watched and enjoyed the World Cup since childhood are more than disappointed. The whole tournament was tainted from the beginning, starting with a fake peace prize to gratify the host country.
I’m asking this in earnest:
How does an American travel freely to my homeland (a place I’d be arrested, imprisoned, or worse) and take part in government sponsored events (a government the U.S. is in conflict with)
chant “down with the USA!” and come back to America without so much as being questioned by authorities?
I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.
I’ve listened to this three times and teared up all three times.
All I hear is subtext.
No, this doesn’t mean I all of a sudden support the regime. 🙄
Everything about this World Cup has been painful and heartbreaking for a multitude of reasons.
