@GhaflaKenya Buana this is next to my very tranquil home. When will it start being operational? Visited there a few times and met rather hostile Chinese contractors. I guess if I want a close up, I will have to use to my drone to do videos and pictures
The death of Raila Odinga marked more than a political end, it silenced a central muse for a nation’s creative soul. His life was a grand narrative performed at the intersection of power and art.
For over four decades, Raila was Kenya’s most potent creative catalyst. He was the most sung-about, caricatured, and nicknamed politician; Agwambo, Tinga, Jakom. He inspired extreme emotions, a polarity that fueled endless artistic expression, from praise songs to protest anthems.
His journey from 1982 coup suspect and political prisoner to perennial presidential contender provided an epic storyline. Artists chronicled every turn: the merger with KANU, the NARC coalition, the Handshake. His thick skin was the canvas for generations of cartoonists.
Raila wasn't just a subject; he was a benefactor and patron. His recognition could change an artist's fortune overnight. Campaign anthems like Unbwogable, Tibim became cultural landmarks, bringing fame and financial reward to their creators.
Most profoundly, Raila was himself a master performer. His rallies were theatrical events. He wielded language, history, and metaphor like no other turning Swahili riddles (vitendawili), football commentary, and appropriated songs into powerful political tools.
He understood that politics, at its peak, is narrative. He historicized the present, legitimized his moves through allegory, and connected with audiences on a deeply cultural level. In passing, Raila Odinga left a void not just in the political arena but in Kenya's artistic landscape. He was a lifelong collaborator in the nation's story, proving that the most enduring legacy is often the one sung, painted, and performed into memory.

@theelephantinfo Thank you @theelephantinfo for being bold and important. Mourning Raila in the diaspora was tough. Continues to be tough. I hope this piece captures the past and present of the realities of experiencing Raila.
What made my day? Someone told me, “I only planned to stay for one session, but I couldn’t leave once yours started.”
I don’t take that lightly.
At @ICTExpo , we explored how blockchain can make land ownership more secure and accessible , not in theory, but in real, on-the-ground ways.
The systems are cracking. People are listening. Use cases are here.
Thanks to ICT Expo for letting me share what the future of ownership could actually look like.
