Research can't tell teachers what to do—classrooms are too complex for that ever to be likely. But research can identify "best bets" for improving practice, and the Great Teaching Toolkit Evidence Review is pretty much the state of the art in this regard: https://t.co/FJXMJ8NuxL

@sarahmardell @SwailesRuth @jan_dubiel The NCC guidance talks about enabling children to understand about the space around them. It also encourages exploration of why society is socially distancing. They may be confused by why they can’t be close to family members but can be close to a friend at school.

Just a thought but the current YR and Y1 children have taken the Reception Baseline Assessment trials to phase out teacher assessment at Y2.

There is no set date for schools to reopen. Schools will remain closed to most until scientific advice indicates it is right to reopen and the five tests set out to beat this virus have been met.

This ELG is utterly awful, the worst I think I’ve ever seen proposed. I desperately hope the EYs sector resoond to the consultation and make their views on it known.

What would our system look like if there were no private schools? If we thought about curriculum as about love, learning & social justice? If we got out from under accountability and dared to say no to drill and yes to creativity?! @_CREC @NAHTnews @watchmegrow_Di @earlyed_uk
