Thanks to all for the lovely tweets about our mother. It has been very comforting to read them & learn how many friends she had here & how many people appreciated her qualities. She would be quite staggered. The Marson family
@mufasabarrett Hello Natasha - sorry, this is @debmarson, Normaโs daughter, not a tweet from the beyond... Looking at your bio, RHC is the connection. She was a student there from 1947 to 1950. Thank you for your kind comments.
Ever the journalist, she never lost her interest in what was going on in the world, from major events to the goings on in Ambridge. We know she would want to say goodbye & thanks to all her online friends. The Marson family 2/2
Norma Marson (29.04.30-21.04.18)
We are very sorry to say that our wonderful mother, Norma Marson, died peacefully last night. She loved Twitter as it was the perfect platform for her natural curiosity & enjoyment of exchanging opinions & ideas. 1/2
@LilianHarry@BBCTheArchers ๐ She certainly never lacked admirers, so Iโm surprised when tweetalongers say Phil & Jill were desperate to get her off their hands. #thearchers
@KeriWarbis She seems pretty well regarded in the village. She came as an outsider, 2nd wife, no country background, & made a success of being farmerโs wife/helpmeet,homemaker, & mother of 4, including twins.
@KeriWarbis@LilianHarry People certainly seemed to be more contented with their lot, & this looking back to a more placid time was part of the Archersโ long-lasting appeal. Less exciting but less stressful.
@KeriWarbis To quote the famous last line of Some Like It Hot, nobodyโs perfect. Mothers come in for a lot of blame, often unfairly, but they donโt get the same credit when children turn out well!
@KeriWarbis Message received & understood. Only wanted to stick up for the much maligned Jill. Agree no one knows truth about other peopleโs relationships. #thearchers
