@SenAdamSchiff Muslim American and the principles of Islam can be two different things. People fear the latter. The question is “are they two different things?”
To conflate the two is to miss the point as it appears you have.
@loincloth42069@rirokpik This is where I have the main difficulty: moving from the historic racism that happened to the systemic racism of today. It seems a lot less obvious because of the possibility of their being other reasons for these things. Some of these are indisputable while others aren’t.
@loincloth42069@rirokpik Many of these things would effect the people within this areas regardless of their race. I haven’t heard of black history being removed and DEI seemed dubious from the beginning.
The definition of systemic racism is difficult to accept. I’d have to look further.
@loincloth42069@rirokpik Okay maybe I didn’t understand what you were saying. Your claim now is that the historical racism that did exist still persists intrinsically within the system. Youd have to show that this system is still as racist as it historically was. Because it was doesn’t mean that it is.
@loincloth42069@rirokpik You’re ascribing characteristics of racist behavior to a system. I think class oppression is being conflated with racism.
These are two different claims :1. a class is oppressed
2. Racism is the cause of oppression.
The first is easy to show the second not so much
@americannative_ Every comment actually interested in purchasing a shirt. Guy is selling to people he’s trying to offend. I guess in some way he still wins? Weird dynamics here
