The bravery of D-Day was never far from Churchill's mind - this photo from the library at Chartwell; a scale model of Port Arromanches and the Mulberry Harbours #Normandythen#DDay
Just three days before D-Day, a 21-year-old Irish woman by the name of Maureen Flavin diligently recorded her routine barometer reading and promptly dispatched it to Dublin.
Little did she know that this solitary data point would be relayed directly to General Dwight D. Eisenhower, leading to a pivotal decision that averted disaster. Eisenhower wisely chose to delay D-Day in response to the incoming storm signaled by Maureen Flavin's weather observation.
A collection of pictures from Normandy, 🇫🇷, a region I call home. Known for dairy farming 🐄, apples 🍏, a rich history and dynamic economy. Everything there is familiar and I love going back, it gives me peace. #MissionAlpha
