The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued an appeal to consumers across seven states, including those served by NGEMC, to reduce energy demand, particularly during the anticipated peak demand period of 6 a.m. and 1p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Members can help lower demand by taking a few simple steps during peak hours: Set your thermostat to the lowest comfortable temperature. Delay use of major appliances, such as ovens and clothes dryers, during peak demand hours. Turn off and unplug unused lights and electronics.
