5th grade ELP students presented Chicken Little and the Elephant of Surprise to first grade today! Through their Reader's Theater presentation, they have learned about dramatic interpretation of a text, voice inflection and emotion, and how to speak/perform in front of a crowd.
Student arecurious and exploring our new Communication Board donated to Ed White by the Every Piece Matters Foundation. The purpose of the board is to assist students who struggle with communicating. We are excited to be able to provide this communication tool for our students!

6th grade ELP students learned about earthquakes and how engineers create buildings to withstand an earthquake. They explored various ways to engineer a building to withstand weight and movement and it passed the shake test! #nslancers
We have been learning about force and motion in kindergarten. Kindergarteners were challenged to build a house out of play-doh, popsicle sticks, construction paper, tin foil, and tape to see if their house would withstand different amounts of force. Check out our video!
Students in 5G focusing on mixtures and solutions. They were looking at sodium chloride crystals under the microscope and filtering/separating mixtures.

Students in 1G have been learning about animal adaptations. Today they each got a butterfly and camouflaged it, so it would blend in with their classroom.
